Hi, I'm Len (Age 30), from Uncasville, CT. Rob (Aka Dire 51), my partner in crime at West Mansion showed me this place. I've never really considered myself a collector, just a gamer (I do however, have a goal to collect every Star Wars game ever made. I've been into gaming damn near all my life. It all started with the PONG console my parents bought. From there it went to the 2600, Intellivision, Atarti 800 computer, NES, Genesis, Super NES, 32X, Playstation, and N64. Sadly, all I have left is the NES, Super NES, and N64. I've also wanted to get into import games, but I've never had the spare cash or even known where to start.
Some of my favorite games are:
Rogue Squadron (N64),
Gradius III (SNES),
Streets of Rage series,
Splatterhouse series,
Perfect Dark (N64),

Hello all,
I'm G.P., 32 years old, hailing from NYC but currently residing in scenic East Meadow NY. I came across DP around 1998 or so when I suddenly discovered that not only were there people selling all those great old games on Yahoo & Ebay, but in picking up the DP guide that there were other people as crazy as I am.
I've been a video game junkie for about as long as I can remember, going all the way back to that first dedicated Pong console dad brought home when I was about 5. I'll collect just about any video game system I come across, and as such while I don't have any complete collections (though I am getting close on the Odyssey 2 and the Atari 7800), I do have a pretty nice assortment of stuff from different systems. Unfortunately, I don't pick up as much stuff as I used to due to collecting becoming more popular (and causing a rise in prices) and less free cash as I get older. :)
If I had to pick my 2 biggest collecting blunders I'd have to say...
1.) All those ColecoVision games that I sold to a buddy in high school for $5 apiece so I'd have enough cash for a date. I've almost gotten them all again. At least i didn't sell Mr. Do's Castle! :)
2.) The fact that when I moved, I threw out all of my Genesis game boxes to save space. I still kick myself about this one on a regular basis - especially whenever I see "Room of Doom" photos of Genesis games all lined up. Must have been about 50 boxes...
What i do in real life isn't interesting at all, so I'm not going to bore anyone and I guess my claim to fame is having built a custom arcade cabinet from scratch about 5 and a half years ago. Right now my main hobby is fighting off the urge to build a cocktail cabinet to go with the first machine, upgrading the current machine so it's as unique as it was back in the old days before people started selling pre-build cabinet kits and trying to think of ways I could eventually turn arcade cabinet building into a job. :)
So there you have it - a big greeting to everyone and may Bira Bira watch over your hunts!

Age 34
Collecting video games since 1995. Before that I just played, played, and played.
I'm over 2000 games now in my collection if I can calculate correctly. One day I'll update Joe's list under my name.
Can't remember how I found this forum. Bought the last 4 DP Guides, though I would help contribute info. Probably found through a news group or by accidently searching the web.
My favorite games of all time are Dragon's Lair I and II, and the new 3-D, Front Line, Ghost and Goblins, and Elevator Action.
Love Time Pilot for the CV and also the original Mr Do. For the 2600, I'd have to go with Adventure, Raiders ot Lost Ark, and Haunted house.
Guess there's a lot more, with the Thief series by Eidos being my all time PC fav.
It's hard to say what I do in real life. Had a comic book/toy store, then ran my buddies, for a few years. Sell on Ebay for myself, and sometimes for others. I'm currently doing data entry for a temp agency, but am applying for a teaching position, or possibly trying to get back into the post office. I'm also organist in my church, trying to upgrade myself to a richer one. :)

Hello, my name is Rob from Santa Cruz, California. I am a long timer lurker and a first time poster. I mainly collect for Saturn, Megadrive, PC Engine, Dreamcast, Neo-Geo, Neo-Geo Pocket, Atari XEGS, and JAMMA. I don't really know how I got started collecting. The first thing I got was a Turbo Duo and it took off from there. My favorite games are Cotton, Lord of Thunder, Ys 1 & 2 for the PC Engine, Moon Patrol, for the XEGS and SNK vs Capcom for the Neo-Geo Pocket. I think I found the site a while back searching for Atari XEGS and JAMMA information. I am mainly into older stuff. I may play an RPG now and again for the PSX or PS2 though. I was one of the locals who showed up for CGE. You may have seen me hanging around the floor or the swap meet. Looking forward to being a regular poster.
Thanks.

I just realized that I haven't done this since I became a member with my all new, all true user name.
Anyway, my name called John. I live in Wisconsin, and I am currently 24 years old. I'm known as LazingBlazers or lazingblazers on this site, as well as eBay and Yahoo!. I am also known as LazingBlazers or fuk2The2ndPower on Xbox Live. If you see me at one of those other places, give me a shout out. I've actually been an on and off member of this message board for a while. I used to be known as Johnny Arcade, and something I can't remember even before, back when this was on the EZBoard system. Anybody remember? Anybody care? I doubt it.
For my gaming tendencies, I like the TurboGrafx-16 a lot... I've got a pretty nutso collection. Once I get a first hand grasp of what the Commodore 64 is all about, I might get into that too. I also appreciate the current gen stuff a good deal, but it's just not quite the same to me. However, that still doesn't put a stop to me blowing money on it.
Other things that I enjoy are Bruceploitation, Anthrax, Chevrolets, fishing, different types of exercise, and lots of etc.
Here's looking forward to some good discussion on the forums!

My name is Nick and I'm from Perth, Western Australia the most Isolated city in the world or so they say. I've been browsing these forums for the past few weeks and this place seems to be one of the best forums on the net so I have joined.
Anyway I wouldn't consider myself a collector as such more of a gamer with a pile of games (260+).
And so it begins.

Hi, my name is Clint and I'm from Texas. I colect everything I can get my hands on as far as console games go. I enjoy cart based games over CD based as I have had more CD based systems die on me over carts. This said, I dont like the N64 much because the controlers tend to break on me often. Biggest colection is in the PS1 but the DC, snes, and genesis close out the top 4. I have been playing console games sense 82 on the atari 2600 and started colecting then but gave up and only started back with the PS1.
Curently colecting for-
Atari 2600
NES
SNES
Lynx
GB
GBC
GBA
Master system
Genesis
Saturn
DC
PS1
PS2
X-Box
Imoports/domestic releases of anime based games.

Hi everyone!
My name is Mike and I'm an avid collector. I've had a passion for games since the Odyssey 2 and have been collecting game systems since 95. I've got over 500 games and try to keep my collection focused to North American releases only. I used to work in the Insurance industry, but relaized that wasn't my thing and changed careers. Currently, I'm a Game Designer for a AAA studio and am much happier as I can develop the content I have such a passion for. I look forward to contributing on these boards and will be a frequent visitor.

Panzer Dragoon Saga
Favorite System:

Jive3D
09-08-2004, 05:28 AM
Allow myself to introduce...myself.
I'm Jive3D and I'm obsessed with games. I'm a normal 24 year old dude. I get up in the morning and drink coffee then take the subway to work. I live in Manhatten, no I live in the constant state of videogame obsession, wait I already established that.
I'm a big fan of all systems, well almost all systems. It first started with a game of Pac-man in California, circa 1984. My Dad told me that I played it for about a half hour (without a quarter) When the parents gave me a few washingtons, well it all started there. After an unhealthy obsession with a Super Mario Bros. arcade machine, They finally got me an Atari 2600 (my first system, still in it's "prime" I might add). Later came the NES and almost every system after that (but not always when they came out, I wasn't totally spoiled, I have collected a lot in the recent years, gotta get back all of the good games that I was stupid enough to trade to funcoland back in the day ^_^*!)
You can check out my game collection in the link below the clever Snatcher sig. Those are all of my legitimate games. I'm very much into the, uh, seedy type of game aquisitions, but I still fully support the industry by purchasing a healthy amount of games. Boy I can't wait for Donkey Konga to come out! I just pre ordered Shikigami no Shiro II for PS2, I'll be buying Megaman Command Mission, hopefully I'll be able to buy Shenmue Online, Silent Hill 4 and Megaman Collection on GBA if capcom stops delaying it. Sheesh!
Right now I have my Gamecube w/GBA player, PS2, Dreamcast & the roomate's Xbox hooked up to my TV. NO I have yet to purchase an Xbox. I did purchase my first Xbox game a few weeks ago (SHENMUE II). Nothing else other than Halo has somewhat perked my interest.
I'm into niche games and some maintream stuff. Most of my games are from Japanese developers. I actually boycotted any game by an american designer until GTA came out which actually renewed my faith in non Japanese gaming. That's probably not true to a T as far as boycotting US and Europe developed games (Except Wipeout which is my favorite series of games) But I did have little faith in games that didnt come from Japan for a long time.
I could go on and on but I'll try to sum it up with a few interests, which will include game genres and hobbys alike.
Survival Horror, Electronic Music (not that crap that gives dance music a bad name but the good stuff like DJ Shadow, Hybrid, RJD2, Jamiroquai, Plump DJs, I could go on), Almost anything Japanese. I speak a little Japanese - took some courses in college. I'm a DJ, I'm not big into scratching, but I'll do it when it's appropriate. I'm also a big fan of the Japanese surealist fiction author Haruki Murakami, Great stuff. I'm a movie buff too...where do I stop, where do I begin? Also, The Aquabats are seriously the best band in the world (and they are not Electronic either, which almost breaks my code of ethics. I guess that's what Silly Co-Cal Ska Super Heroes will do to ya)
I'm going to stop here, oh wait, I'll also say that most of my friends are not gamers at all. My girlfriend SOMETIMES will try to play some games, but other than that I only get a 1 player experience most of the time. So if you live in NYC and want to play some Pac-Man vs, shoot me a PM.

Hello! My name is Dave and I live in Suwanee, GA. It sounds hickish, but its in the most heavily populated county in Georgia. I'm 20 years old and go to art school for computer animation. I found this website a while back actually, but never surfed around the forums. As soon as I started looking at some posts, I knew this is the place for me. I'm a middle school gamer (thats what I call it), or games from the late 80s til the latest wave of consoles hit. Im sure there is a technical definition, but I don't know it. Haha. I don't really have a favorite system, but I love everything Sega, hence my name. I just genuinely love games, and I collect for myself and not to resell later. I just want to amass as many games as I possibly can before I croak. I currently own an NES toploader, regular NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, 32x, 3do, PSX, Saturn, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance SP, PS2, Gamecube and a gaming PC. I have had two X-Boxes but they never did anything for me, so I sold them. Ha.
My favorite series of games is Resident Evil, I've amassed quite a collection of those games. I also love Doom games, mostly on PC, but I grab the console ones for sh*ts and giggles. My favorite game period is Tetris.

Hello.
I'm a gamer from Edmonton AB, in the vast wastelands of Canada. I found the forums through a friend of mine who posts here. Not sure what handle he's going by, as I just got here :P
I enjoy most every kind of game save for sports and RTS games. If it involves Megaman or ninja's, I'll play it if I can.
I find it hard to classify myself as a collector. If I had to place a label on myself, I'd say I'm a very casual collector. I buy a lot of games, new and used, current and classic, but I only buy things I like. I don't buy for value or to resell or auction later. I mostly keep the stuff so I have access to it when I want to play it.
Lately, I'm into SNES games, as I was younger when the system came out and couldn't afford a great deal of the best games. Now that I have a steady income, I'm always on the lookout for anything fun, as well as the remaining games I've sold off over the years that I haven't bought back yet. Besides that, I have the usual Xbox, PS2, and GC combo, some common classic systems, and a DC that sorely needs attention.
In "real life", I'm an Assistant Manager at an EBGames here in town. It's probably the best job I can hope for right now, as I never did the whole college thing. I like it, though. I get to talk about games, play games, deal with games, and at the same time, be one of the people sitting at the mouth of "the beast". Working for a corporation makes you feel dirty once in awhile, but I do my best to "keep it real" and make sure I'm helping out as many gamers as I can.
The rest is pretty boring. Not sure how much I'll be posting here, but I'll make an effort to lurk the forums and be creepy at social gatherings. See you around. Stay frosty.

Hello all!
My name is Ann, I'm from Dieppe, New Brunswick in Canada. I'm 20 years old and currently go to University of Moncton for culinary arts. My interests are simple, I like video games and anime. If I can, I like to have both, with the Nippon Ichi stuff out there as well as earlier anime based games like Magic Knight Rayearth on the saturn, or all those great older Sailor Moon games.
My favorite anime is Ranma Nibunnoichi (where I got my nickname from) and I listen to a lot of J-pop music, like Namie Amuro, GLOBE, and Two-Mix. For domestic stuff I like Ashleigh McIsaac, Barenaked Ladies (naturally), Andrew W.K. (don't laugh!) and a lot of other bands. I am sort of everywhere on the map musically.
And... yeah! Hope not to be a bother to all of you.

Hello, my name is Jeremy, also known as Stressboy. I am 27 and currently work as a contractor for the government. I live in Vancouver, WA.
I currently collect for any system I can, although I am really just starting out. My older consoles are Atari 2600, ColecoVision with ADAM module, and an SNES. The SNES is the same one I got for $200 new back in 1991. I also have an N64, Playstation, Dreamcast(not working), PS2, Gamecube, and XBox.
My favorite games have to be some of the older Final Fantasy games(including 7), the Metroid series, Kid Icarus, Ico, A Link to the Past, Strider, Secret of Mana.. to name a few. I have a hard time trying to figure out which game I would consider a favorite, since a lot of games I like for different reasons.
My first gaming experiences have to be playing on my friends Atari 2600 when I was a kid, and also sitting down and doing the trench run in the old Star Wars arcade game. Also, Pac Man was my life when I was about 5 - 6years old. My first console was a Coleco Vision with the Atari 2600 adapter.

09-27-2004, 05:04 AM
I've been on the forums for a little while and realized I never introduced myself.
My board name is grimbal but my birthname is Heath. I was introduced to Digital Press by icbrkr who is a close friend of mine. I did some heavy collecting in the late 90's but after my first child was born I drifted away from the scene and sold A LOT of stuff off. Well the bug has bit me again and now I'm back into it full steam.
I collect pretty much anything gaming related. My current systems are an Atari 5200, NES, SMS, Sega CDX, 32x, SNES, PS1, PS2 and GBA SP. I also have 3 arcade cabs .
See you on the boards. :)

My name is Lee. I'm a 26 year old computer geek, married, and living in Washington DC. I used to collect systems and games, but I ended up selling most everything and getting out of gaming for a while. I started getting back into SNES stuff via emulation at first, but then I wanted to go back and get the actual games. I liked emulation, but found that the controls were just a little off in timing - and for some games, that really didn't work. So right now I'm beginning my collection again!

I'm Geoff. I'm 20. I live in New Orleans, LA. I work for The GameTrader (http://thegametrader.com), where we buy, sell, and trade games. I'm the head of the web department (don't complain about the site -- I didn't make it, working on a redesign). I'm an NES fan all the way. It's defintiely my favorite system. My favorite game is (as cliche as it may sound) Super Mario Bros. It's a game I can beat over and over and never grow tired of it.
As of now, I own these systems:
NES (frontloader)
NES (toploader)
SNES
N64 (black)
N64 (translucent smoke black)
GameBoy
GameBoy Advance SP
PS2
XBOX
GameCube
I'm the founder and webmaster at Eight-Four.com, a site dedicated to the modification of consoles, and no, not like mod-chips, but adding LEDs, painting - making what's old, new again.

I realized that I never said a formal hello, so here we go...
I'm 26 years old and currently searching for a position in higher education after putting in my time in the rat race of NYC. I live with my girlfriend in Somerset, NJ, right outside New Brunswick, home of Rutgers University, where I got my Bachelor's. I hope to settle near here someday. It is on the doorstep of everything the east coast can offer.
I primarily play action heavy games from the 8, 16 & 32 Bit eras. I love shmups (my current avatar is the Kanji for tate, or vertical). I hate sports games (made a coaster set out of crappy PSX sports games). My personal take on the game industry is that it is in a downhill slide from artistic expression to stagnation for the purposes of mass consumption and greed. Gaming is starting to look like present day Hollywood. Loads of crap with hidden gems hidden throughout.
I have always been meticulous about my stuff, going back to my first console, the Sega Master System. (I did not have a VCS, but my best friend did and that is where I got hooked on playing. We also played a great deal of Sierra adventures on his Tandy 1000, and later P60!) I have generally supported the underdog, being an early adopter of both the TurboGrafx 16 and the Sega Saturn.
Collecting was inevitable with that kind of philosophy. I started in earnest in 1997, in the ashes of a massive sell-off the year before where I dumped a good 80% of my collection before leaving for college. Since then, my collection has blossomed into a modest 700+ games for all systems from the VCS to the XBox, with a total of only 3 sports games (Virtua Tennis & 2k2 for the DC, and Neo Turf Masters for the NGPC. Quality, not necessarily quantity.
My collection is a hands-on affair. Games are useless if they aren't played. They betray their purpose when kept sealed. The only sealed items I have are doubles.
That's me in a nutshell. I should have been born Japanese.

Hey, I'm Gino, currently reside in Buffalo, NY. I've Been coming to this site for a while and just decided to sign up finally. My fav. genres are action and rpg's. For action, some games I enjoy are: devil may cry, berserk, chaos legion, gunstar heroes, contra, castlevania, sonic, megaman, and otogi to name a few. As for rpg's I like: shadow hearts 1-2, valkyrie profile, grandia 1-2, lunar 1-2, phantasy star 1-4, and shining force 0-2 (0 being shining in darkness :)). My systems that I have and collect for are: nes, genesis, snes, n64, psone, ps2, dreamcast, saturn, xbox, gamecube, gba sp, and pc.
I currently work at gamestop. I remember when I was real young, my brother gave me his comics (around 35), so for a couple years I started collecting them. Then when we got the nes with smb, I was instantly hooked LOL . Then after that, I just kept on gaming (with vid games as my main hobby). I also remember the time I gave my nes and genesis to my older sister to have (I had around 50 games for each system). To this day I sometimes wish I still had the games to play(the ones I haven't recollected yet), but I have already re-collected most of them and can find the rest in due time, and its good to know that I can introduce my sister to the wonders of gaming :)

Haven't posted here yet. Its not like anyone will read this anyways LOL . I'm 18 years old, from Illionis, and collect for just about every system from NES onwards. As my name says, I love promotional materal, especially items send to stores just for display. I have a huge collection of video game displays, promotional posters, and lots of other goodies there were never for sale to consumers. Well thats about it!

I'm Joshua from Ville Platte, Louisiana. 23 years old. Not a huge collector, but I try to get what I want here and there as I can. Not working right now. I don't have a favorite system, but it is close between the Saturn, PS1, and SNES. First games I played were on C-64 and it was Pitfall 2, thus my everlasting love for that game and system. Right now I'm working on getting into school for business management after my last failed attempt at higher ed. The only rare game I own that is worth bragging about is Dracula X for PC=Engine. I paid $50 for it back in the day. And I am not selling! It's my sole torphey so to speak.
I've been following digital press off-and-on for quite some time.

Hi, I'm Valerie Rayne, I'm 17 years old and I live in the Netherlands. I don't work yet cause I'm still in school learning to become a cook. Some of my interests R Gaming and trying to cheat on systems, what ever system that may be, I enjoy playing Games but collecting them (just the ROMz, as a 17 year old I don't have the money to get me the real stuff) is my main purpose. I'm working on a site that I want to become the History of Gaming so if U got bits and pieces of info, especially about the big '83 crash, please send me some of it. Other than that, I'm just a happy teenage girl that has a Heart for older Gaming systems, especially the NES and Megadrive/Genesis systems.
Here's a list of the systems I own, most of them donated to me by my brother.
Atari 2600.
Nintendo Entertainment System.
Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
Nintendo64 (bought it myself).
Nintendo Gamecube (bought this one aswell).
Nintendo Gameboy.
Nintendo Gameboy Color.
Nintendo Gameboy Advanced (and also this one I bought my self).
Sega Master System.
Sega Megadrive (that's Genesis in the USA but I think U already know that).
Sega Game Gear.
Commodore64 (I can't play Games on this one anymore, that red N64 expansion pack kinda cartridge in the back of the keyboard died).
Sony Playstation.
Im thinking about getting me one of those X-Boxes, just to be able to play Fable and Kameo....
What do I do on a daily basis??
I go to school and after that I do my homework, play some Games or watch some Anime (NOIR serie rules) or have a look on the internet, once I've done my thing I go to bed, that's pretty much about it, íf U got something to ask U can always find me here, and if it's really urgent add agesoflove@hotmail.com to Ur MSN Messenger, U sure can always find me there.
This was it, I'm gonna try and find me some more rare Emulated stuff, I hope I will have a good time here on the forum and I'll see U guys next time....

What's up everyone? I'm new here. First of all, I made a post about the freeipod.com thing and I want to apologize to y'all if I came off as a spammer. It's just, I really did want to tell ppl about it. I know it's a pyramid scheme type deal, but oh well, a $7 IPOD would be worth it. Anyway, I'm here to introduce myself.
My name is Tony Comeaux. I am from Groves, TX, located in Southeast Texas. I have been into gaming for a long time, maybe not as much as others, but as soon as I was old enough to develop speech and motor skills, I was playin every kind of game I could. My first system was the Atari 2600. Then i moved on from there: NES, GENESIS, and so on. Here's what I have and have been into as far as games go:
System /Game #
Atari /55-60
NES /about 50
SNES /about 20
Genesis /15-20
Gameboy (from creation to GBA) /over 100
Playstation /45-50
N64 /about 30
Dreamcast /about 20 (I love Power Stone!)
Playstation 2 (my favorite) /about 50
Gamecube /10-15 (Kind of lacking in this department)
Xbox /less than 10 (same here, but if you have
Halo, what else matters?)
PC /about 30
Well, I guess that's about it. I know those numbers aren't as high as a lot of others. Insufficient funds can be a pain in the ass. Oh, and before I go, DigitalSpace, I completely agree with you: Eliza Dushku is a total babe. Later guys.

Tell us any or all of the following:
Who you are - My name is Dave (aka djfinny)
Where you live - I live just North of Boston, MA
How you found the forums - A friend of mine recommended that I check out Digital Press, it's about time I found you guys/gals !!
What your favorite games are - Pretty much everything, arcade, RPG's, RTS, sports, strategy etc
What systems you collect for:
- Atari 2600 (original wood grain)
- Atari 5200 (4 port)
- Odyssey 2
- Intellivision w/ Intellivoice
- Vectrex
- Panasonic 3DO
- PS/1
- N64
- GC and GBA
- Xbox
- PC
I have several or more carts/CD's for each console (and growing) around 100+ titles right now
What you do in "real life" I work in IT as a procurement specialist in a very large financial institution.
Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc: I'm 36 years old. I believe the first arcade type game I've played was in 1976 - I it was Tank or Bi-plane. Some of the other "console" .... ( PC's) I have owned over the years which I hope to collect again someday are:
- Radio Shack TRS-80 model 1 level 2 16k RAM
- C64
- Apple 2e
As a kid I had compiled about 2 years of Electronic Gaming magazines (from 1982-1984 ish) all near mint, nicely bagged and boxed. I then went off to college and came home to discover that all the old PC's and magazine I collected over the years were thrown out accidentally by my mom.... I've been collecting ever since.
Recently, I'm been looking to get more involved in the Gaming Industry (a possible career change?) I've also been look for sites that are looking for classic game reviewer's - if anyone could recommend some places that are accepting submissions, I would certainly appreciate it.
Nice to meet all of you and good luck with your collections/hobbies. BTW - We are not geeks, we're just misunderstood, at least that's what I tell my wife.

Hi! My name is Philippe, I'm 23 and I live in Montreal, Canada. I found the forum through a Google search.
I sold all my systems except for my Colecovision back in 1996, but bought a used NES in 2000 and a used Genesis in 2004. I only collect games for these two systems now, and 95% of the games I have bought this year have been action games.
I'm a philosophy student.
For those interested, I have written a piece entitled "My life as a video game player", which gives a more detailed account of my gaming experiences.

Hello. My name's Josh. I'm 25, I currently live in Georgia, and I came across this forum through the Room of Doom from Tips and Tricks Magazine.
I started gaming when I was a wee lad of 5 when my dad got an NES (with Super Mario Bros!) for Christmas the year it came out. It was the gateway system that led me to a lifetime of gaming that had me follow almost exclusively Nintendo consoles. I have all the Nintendo consoles, from the NES to the Gamecube. Some of my prized pieces include a complete boxed Virtual Boy, a standalone demo version of Soul Calibur 2, and a limited edition Ice Blue Gameboy Pocket.
You can check out what I've got here (http://users.ign.com/collection/joshnickerson) if you like. Currently, I have a friendly rivalry with a pal of mine to see who can build the biggest NES collection... he's winning... so far.
When I'm not gaming, I'm usually trying to sharpen my skills as a graphic designer and a cartoonist.
J2games
10-19-2004, 03:12 AM
although new to the forums, some of you might know me from my Ebay Store or new website: www.j2games.com! (Ebay j2_discounts)
I'm one half of the J2 - Jay... the other half being Jamie... J2 (real creative, huh?)
J2 is actually a small conglomerate of a few companies that we co-own, real estate, landscaping, interior design, renovations... don't ask. My first love though has always been video games!
I can remember the Christmas morning we opened out Odyssey2 and although secretly wished it was an Atari 2600... we were still glued to the tv and KC Munchkins! I still have that Odyssey2 (in the box with all the packins and every game for that system... jet forward 20 years and it's now 1000's of games for tons of systems! (gee, is there a 12 step for people like us?) I did finally get my Atari 2600 (actually 5 of them) and a 5200, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar, JagCD, MasterSystem, Genesis, Nomad, GenCD, GameGear, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast, Intellivision (with the voice module,) NES, SNES, N64, the Cube (I LOVE THE CUBE) GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Gameboy SP (all the colors), (pre-ordered the Gameboy DS), Colecovision and my beloved Odyssey2 with voice module. (and if you want to count this... still have EVERY issue of Electronic Games magazine back to the Star Wars issue, Sept 1984!)
Once I started selling on Ebay and seeing what the demand was, I decided opening a website and trying to bring not only the everyday titles, but the rarer and hard to find titles to the people might work!
Can you believe all of this is a second job too! Although not the super programmer type, for the day job I build databases and analyze sales performance for a little telecom company and guide the salesforce to better results. (hey, it pays for my "habit!")
kewl to meet everyone. hit our site when you can www.j2games.com. we love to hear from people and love feedback as we develop the site into something collectors will love!
oh, and hey Joe, wished we had met in NJ. Just moved from South Orange a month ago to beautiful Atlanta.. and as of today, Oct 18th... it's still a high of 80! (won't be missing those NJ winters and happiest when I sold the snow blower!)

Hi all,
Im Jose, I live in Miami. I found this site through SegaXtreme . I have been a Sega fan for many years. My first Sega was the Genesis,, bought it the week it came out at a hefty $189.99 at Toys R US. Then I got the Master System Converter and the Game Gear. Later came the Saturn.. I gave them all away during my college years. Couple months ago I bought back a Nomad, LaserActive with the Sega Pac, Derby Saturn, regular Saturn a Hellol Kitty Dreamcast and a Regular Dreamcast. My next System to collect will be the Neo Geo.

My name is Devin O'Brien and i'm from Chilliwack, B.C
I found this website by reading about it in a magazine.
My favorite games are Starfox 64, Super Smash Bros, Super Mario Bro's 3, Grand Turismo 2, Super Mario Kart, and Shining force.
I have a fairly big collection of 317 games and buying whatever game comes my way. And of course like any good collector should do, I never sell any of my games.
In real life im going to sardis secoundary, im in grade 11. And for my job I just do odd jobs. In the winter I do driveways with a snowplow on my quad, and in the summer I do landscaping.
As for hobby's, if im not working im playing video games or atving. As for how I got started, I was reading the very first collecters closet, and saw the room of doom, and being a competitve guy wanted to beat the guys collection, and thats how I started.

Hello all ! I have been rading this stuff for a long time, but decided to finally become official. My name is Brian, I live in Baltimore, Maryland, and I collect pretty much everything.
I try to focus on all game systems with interchangeable media, be it cd, cart, whatever. I have a few pongs, and a few Atari/Com 64 PCs, but consoles are my main focus. At last count, I had about 90+ consoles. I need to get a list and some pictures of my room (it is a wip, buty coming along great). Anyway, I am gonna make a few posts tonite while I look around (first being on that "mosr rare system" thread.

Hello, all. I guess this is my introduction to a new forum a fellow vgers. I'll copy/paste the list and respond to it:
- Who you are - Well, I'm Fleck. Nice to meet you.
- Where you live - I live in Tulsa, OK
- How you found the forums - I have always come here for rarity guides for SNES, but thought I would try out the forums
- What your favorite games are - Way too many to list, but I am a big fan of the Zelda series, FF, and a few others
- What systems you collect for - I have Colecovision, Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis/CD, Dreamcast, and PSX.
- What you do in "real life" - I sell advertising for a local TV affiliate
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc. - I began collecting on accident, really. I was with a buddy at lunch and we were talking about how we enjoyed Contra for NES. I pulled out my NES to find the games were all missing. When I went to replace them, I obviously got carried away. I now own over 600 games for the systems I mentioned. You can check out my collection at http://users.ign.com/collection/fleck586.

Hello, I'm not really new here, but I haven't posted in ages. So, without further ado:
I'm Dillon, and I live in Austin, Texas. I don't remember how exactly I came upon these forums; I think I was looking for information on game rarity. I have a lot of "favorite" games, but some of my all time faves are: anything from the Darius series, Metal Slug X, Axelay, Gundam Wing: Endless Duel (SF based fighter; japan only), Mega Man 2 and 3, Star Fox 64, TimeSplitters 2, Golden Sun 1 and 2, Contra, Super C, Contra III, Super Metroid... oh jeez, the list goes on, but I'm feeling lazy. I like basically any shooter, and a lot of RPGs also. There are only a few first person shooters that I really like, though. I don't really "collect", but I own games for GB/GBA, NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, GCN and PS2. In real life, I'm a high school senior without a job, but now that I have a car I plan to look around for one. Like I said before, I don't really collect, but I started out with the NES back in 1990 or so. My first games were Contra, Captain Skyhawk, SMB/Duck Hunt, and Mega Man 2. From then on I was hooked. I guess I was born just in time to catch the tail end of what are now considered "classic" games.

Hello everyone! I'm Brandon, in Omaha, NE. I found the forums because I was looking for some good TG-16 games, but I couldn't find a good review site. I then just started searching for good classic gaming sites to see if that could point me in the right direction, which was when I stumbled across Digital Press, again.
By again, I mean that I used to get the crude, though informative, black-and-white Digital Press fanzine years ago, before things like the internet were very common. I always loved reading through it, but as time went by I forgot about it. I was kind of surprised when I saw that you guys were still around and had this nice website.
My favorite games are... hmm... I have so many. I'd say that Fallout 1 & 2, Chrono Trigger, and Perfect Dark are at the top of that list. I'd list more, but this could go on for hours. ;)
I collect for most any system, although I tend towards the more obscure, less mainstream systems. Things like Virtual Boy, Sega Master System, TG-16, Atari 5200, stuff that never quite caught on. All together, I think I've got about 30 systems now, and most of the time I'll buy games for any and all of them.
In real life I'm an enlisted computer programmer in the US Air Force. That is a strange thing to do itself. People try to act like they're part of some elite fighting-force, but most of the time we just go to work everyday and sit in cubicles in our camoflage uniforms and combat-boots and write code.
I started collecting by just playing video games a lot when I was a kid. We got an NES when I was 3 or 4, and I was astounded by the fact that I could make the little guy on the TV (Mario in this case) move around by pressing buttons. It wasn't until some time later that I was at a Toys R Us when I saw a Turbo Grafx-16 for $25. I bought it just as they were putting them on clearance and within a few months, I had a pretty hefty stack of TG-16 games for cheap, which really fit my grade-school allowance budget.
Ever since then, I'd scour garage sales and flea markets and clearance aisles for old video games and obscure systems. I think the last time I counted, I had over 600 games, and like I mentioned above, 30ish systems.
That's about it, nice to be part of your little community here.

Hi, everyone! I'm Josh, and I'm from Manahawkin, New Jersey. I'm 16, and I'm a junior in high school. I found these forums because of the recent Dragon Quest VIII Slime controller news (thread about it here).
In "real life," my hobbies include percussion/drumming, sports (especially basketball), video games, and DDR.
I absolutely love video game music, and I hope to become a vgm composer in the future. I run a vgm radio station, called The VG Experience (thread about it here (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=44518)). Check it out if you like video game music!
My favorite game of all time is Chrono Trigger. I don't really "collect" games, but I have about 25 SNES games, and 130-something total.

My name is Kimberly, but you can call me Chainsaw :texaschain:. I finally made an account here on DP. I live in St. Louis, MO and I can't honestly say I collect games. That requires lot's of fun money that I don't have. I bought my PS2 less than a year ago (please keep the laughing to a minimum). One of my fav. systems ever is the 32X. I had to beg till I bled to get one for Christmas. It came with Doom and Cosmic Carnage. I didn't have a computer then, so that was my only option at the time for Doom. By the way, Jasmine, I can't get into FF either. In fact they make me want to rip my skin off. I love RPG's, but they are not what they used to be. Someone else mentioned Shining Force. Thank you for staying faithful! Genesis has some killer RPG's. The Phantasy Star series was great, then they put it online :( Currently I have a NES, Genesis, PSX, PS2, and a DC. I have access to gamegirl79's *cakes* systems that I don't have and my friend has a Neo-Geo pocket, NG arcade cart, 3DO, jaguar, and a saturn. He's always looking for a willing victim to play him in fighting games. He slaughters me, I have much shame. Other than that....I love PC gaming as well. I have no job to speak of (Thanks Bush), but when things are going properly I work in laboratory environments. Even after all these years one of my fav. memories is this: 2P Super Mario Bros. Stuck as Luigi......Hey Dad....there's a 1UP mushroom inside that hole....... Worked every time.

Hey there,
my name's Court Milley. I'm from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
I was one of the unfortunate kids who got an Odyssey 2 instead of an Atari VCS for christmas. Though I loved the console I grew up in a very small town and could never get any games for it. In an attempt to recapture my youth I picked up an O2 a few years ago with a huge bunch of games. It didn't stop there, I figured I wanted to grab all the consoles I played as a kid.
So here I am. It took me a while to come around to any forums. I am currently a member of the Classic Gaming Collectors of Canada forum, which is where I heard about this place. I love cgcc as it started to get tiring collecting by myself, it was great to discuss it with others. I am excited to get to know people here to see what collecting is like worldwide.
I've gotton most of the consoles I've wanted and have decided to try to gather one complete colection of North American releases for Colecovision, my favourite of all pre-crash consoles.
Talk to you all soon. :)

Hello everyone! My name is Tony from East Tennessee originally from Scranton, PA. I am 20 years young going on 21 in December.
I actually discovered this awesome site a few weeks back when I was googling for a site with some good U.S. release lists for games, and quickly bookmarked it. :)
My favorite game of all-time is Final Fantasy II for the SNES (Final Fantasy IV). Nothing even comes close even 13 years after its release, in my opinion.
I also love Age of Empires II; my favorite PC game. Oh yeah, and as you can see Alucard from PSX's Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night is one of my favorite characters.
I'm not into the OLD old consoles. I started heavily with my NES when my sister owned a video store back in the day; so I had 60+ good titles at a stone's throw away. ;) I still remember getting my first NES on my 5th birthday and playing Super Mario Bros. most of the night! That was the first game I really sit down to play and finished; I'm sure most of you can relate to that.
I'll play just about any game on NES, SNES, Genesis, SEGA CD, Sega Saturn, Sony PlayStation, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Game Boy Color / Advance, and Sony PlayStation 2. I'm also a pretty heavy PC gamer. I'm not a console-hater of any kind, I just never really got into anything else. I used to have an extensive collection of games (around 500), but ending up selling all of them to help with the family bills here and there over the years. Thank God for emulation! :)
I just really love playing my video games and being around my friends. I also love taking nature walks once in a while and thinking to myself. I'm kind of a more "passive" type person, but I open up more day after day working retail.
I'll always be more then happy to chat with you classic gamers. They don't make the awesome games of yesteryear like they used to! LOL See ya around!

My name is Roger Stano, I am 31 years old, married with 2 daughters, and live in Monroe, Iowa. I work at Vermeer Manufacturing in Pella, Iowa as a Training Specialist. I provide training to dealership service technicians world-wide.
I found this site and forum by posting on AtariAge, where I had been a member since July 2001. I have always visited this website, as I think it is the premier website for classic gaming.
I collect for the Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx & Jaguar, TG-16, and PS2, as well as some PC games.
Favorite games are as follows:
2600 - Yars Revenge
Jaguar - AVP, Cannon Fodder, Tempest 2000
TG-16 - Galaga '90 I don't have it but I played it at Alan D's house and would love to get a copy of it!
PS2 - Harvest Moon, Katamari Damarcy, Midway Arcade Classics II, Final Fantasy X-2, and all of the Silent Hill Series!
I began collecting when I moved away from Iowa when I joined the Navy back in 1996. My friend Eric and I back in Iowa would play his 2600 and drink Orange Julius all night playing our favorite games. It took me back to my teenage years and I decided I wanted to relive those times over and over again.
That's about it! If you live in Iowa, especially around the Des Moines area, I would love to hear from you! Thanks for reading!

Hey there. I'm a collector/gamer from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I grew up playing on Colecovision, Sega Master System, Commodore 64, and Amiga.
I started playing again late during the Playstation's run ('99-2001). Stopped again. And then resumed with the PS2 in summer of 2003. By the end of the summer, I decided to start collecting classic games as well. The gaming and collecting has not stopped since.
I'm a big fan of the Coleco and Master systems. Also of anything with "Resident Evil" in the title. I'm trying to complete a NA SMS collectiong, while picking up any Turbo and Coleco games I don't have.
I'm pretty happy w/ the systems I have at the moment (considering there were so many systems I never had any exposure to). There's just so much out there. I feel no need to collect for every single system, etc. Might add an SNES model 2, and perhaps a game gear w/ master gear converter in the future.
These are the gaming systems at my disposal.
Commodore 64
Commodore Amiga 500
NES
SNES
N64
Gamecube
Game Boy
GBA SP
Sega Master Model 1-2
Sega Genesis Model 1-3
Sega CD Model 2
Saturn
Dreamcast
Colecovision
Turbografx 16
Playstation

I've been collecting since the early 90s. I used to post on rec.games.video.classic and hang out on the #rgvc IRC channel in the old days. In South Carolina, the large flea markets used to be good sources of all the old systems, though that well has mostly dried up in recent years.
A few of you may already know me as "that guy with a bunch of Astrocade stuff". At one time, I had more than a thousand copies of "Bally Pin". :)

Here I go with my first post. Hello to everyone!! Some interesting (?) facts about me:
- Who you are / - Where you live
I'm 26, female, living in Bern / Switzerland, playing videogames for about 15 years or something. I love my NES and S-NES but have other Consoles like PS1 and 2, Mega Drive, GBA, Dreamcast and Saturn.
- How you found the forums
Link from another Forum
- What your favorite games are
RPG but also plattform games / scrollers like Probotector, Mega Man, Mario, Sonic and so on. And shooters like Life Force, Darius Gaiden... What I dislike the most are sports games and first person shooters.
- What systems you collect for
I'm not really a game collector. I do look around for new games for all of my systems, especially the NES, but most of the times I don't buy games just for the collectors value. Ok, if I see a cheap rarity I but it but I allready spend to much money for my vinyl and CD collection, so I have to slow down with games.
- What you do in "real life"
I work in a tax office.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
My first console was the NES, which I still have. A lot of games for that console are just great!! Like Castlevania, Life Force, Probotector... The NES and the S-NES are sort of my favourite consoles but the new generation stuff from Nintendo is not my cup of tea. Don't like the styles of a lot of the games that are coming out. So I'm more into PS2 and I'm also thinking to buy an X-Box if I can get one for cheap. My latest buy is the Saturn, I only have two games for it but I can allready say it is a great machine.
Anyway, hope I will have a lot of fun with all of you! 8-)

Hi Everyone!
My name is Evan Malik, Im 37 and Live in Las Vegas, Nv. I've been into video gaming since I was a kid thanks to parents who didn't understand the games but couldn't resist a good beg from me!
In the past I used to do a lot of collecting for the 2600, and some handhelds I wanted as a kid but could not afford then. I don't do that anymore in earnest unless I see something in the wild for a decent price. Ebay killed most of the market for me, as my version of collecting includes playing and paying several hundred dollars for something that may get beat up I couldn't justify. So I decided to go for (literally) broke, and now I collect arcade games, I only have 4 now, and will probably have to have a 5th be for a Mame setup as there is simply no room. Except of couse unless I find a full-sized pinball game! The games I have now are:
A Gyruss cocktal machine I got at a swap meet for $50.00, I also found a fully woking Circus Charlie board for it in an "Arcade Graveyard" in the desert.
An upright Battlezone machine
A Tempest Machine
And a cocktail Pinball Game called Family Fun
I currently have an X-Box, Gamecube and Dreamcast hooked to the big screen downstairs, and a Jaguar with Tempest 2000 in the upstairs game room. (Yes like a fool all my Arcade games are upstairs). I Hope to get a Nuon DVD player so I can have each "generation" of Tempest in the game room.
In real life I am a customer service rep for a credit card company, basically when you have a problem with a bill or a late fee, I'm the one on the other end of the line to help.
I've been married over 9 years to my wonderful, and understanding (she made me say the 2nd part), wife Michelle. I have two great Kids, my son Kyle is 6 and likes football soccer and Xbox. My daughter Kira is a bit over 2 and loves to watch and play with the Tempest machine! (The chip doesn't fall far from the circuit board in my family!)
Other than Video Games we love action or sci-fi movies, and going to Disneyland park whenever we can!!
That's me for now, updates as upgrades happen in life!!

Hello there, I'm Howard Scott Warshaw.
I'm a videographer/photographer/writer in San Jose, CA but most of you might know me better by some of my products from back in the early '80s
I designed and coded Yar's Revenge, Raiders of the Lost Ark, the infamous ET game, and the finally-now-being-released Saboteur for the 2600.
I also created and distribute the documentary "Once Upon ATARI" (www.onceuponatari.com) which details all the amazing stuff that was going on behind the scenes while we were making the games. All the things Atari tried to desperately to hide ;)
Joe Santulli told me about this quite a while ago, and after only 32 pages of introductions since his, I'm here!
It's cool to be on now and I'll be popping in here and there to say hello.
Dig you later,
HSW

Steve, 19
Where you live
Perth, Western Australia. AmyRose lives with me ^_^
How you found the forums
AmyRose said good things, I've been using the rarity lookup for a little while
What your favorite games are
Ooh, hard. Fantasy Zone series, Panzer Dragoon series, Bubble Bobble, Worms series, Capcom vs SNK 2, King of Fighters EX2: Howling Blood, Danan the Jungle Fighter (:D), Sonic Series, Mystical Ninja (one, two was ok but no where near the comic genius of goemon's first 64 outing :P), Operation Winback... I could probably go on. I love games :D
What systems you collect for
Pretty much every (mainstream) console from the NES and SMS onwards.
What you do in "real life"
I study Software Engineering full time at university and work two customer service casual jobs- one at a liquor store and one at a game store that specialises in second hand games.
Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I've always had a soft spot for games, but I couldnt really collect until I got a job when I was 16/17. SMS was my first console at age 8 and as such it holds a special place in my heart :) As you can probably tell I have very similar tastes to Amy, which is a blessing when it comes to gaming sessions but a curse when it comes to trawling op shops and the like :D

Hi Everyone!
My name is Tony. I started classic videogaming with the Atari 2600 and still own the one my parents bought for me back in 1980. I'm mostly into hacking now, and frequent AtariAge. I just finished making the Haunted Adventure series (with lots of help), and you can take a peek at it here:
http://atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=61074
I also work full time, attend grad school, and am married, but no kids yet!
Cheers! :)

- Who you are
InsaneDavid, 23 :)
- Where you live
San Jose, CA originally
- How you found the forums
I've read them for awhile but I came across an article that Sean Kelly wrote when looking for something unrelated in a Google search. I hadn't stopped by his page in a long time, went to do so, found it wasn't there. - figured it was time to register for the forums!
- What your favorite games are
Illusion of Gaia (SNES), Starblade (Arcade), StarTropics (NES), Sprint series (Arcade), Aero Fighters series (Arcade / NeoGeo), Ridge Racer series (multi), Shenmue (DC), Grandia (PS), Daytona USA (Arcade), Virtua Racing (Arcade), Sega Super GT / SCUD Race (Arcade)... pretty much anything - favorite genres are shooter, platform, driving, action, and good ol' multiplayer beat-em-up.
- What systems you collect for
Nearly anything from the Atari VCS forward, mostly NES stuff. Small collections on each platform (although I dumped the Jaguar stuff last year) but nothing super spectacular compared to the extremely hardcore game preservationists out there. I collect what I find (and care to seek out) and enjoy, I think that's pretty much the root of every gamer's collection.
- What you do in "real life"
Ack.. @_@ "real life" .. forgot I had one of those. After a rocky parting of the ways with my former employer I've been somewhat self-sufficent painting and repairing consoles and selling games. I also to freelance writing about the industry from time to time.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I started my affair with video games at age 2 with the Activision classic Grand Prix on the 2600. (that actual cartridge that started it all is my most prized gaming posession) Got into NES collecting because as I began to get older and 16 bit gaming came and so forth I began to realize that the universal appeal of games to everyone wasn't there like it was during the NES days. (at least to someone my age) I remembered back when every kid at school (including myself) would either know themselves or know someone who knew every NES game that was currently out... and missed that.

- What systems you collect for
Atari 2600
SMS
NES
SNES
TG16
3DO
Arcade
PC (Abandonware (Actual games not just the files))
And anything Odd (I.e. Costom NES's from Japan etc)
- What you do in "real life"
I'm a Addictions counselor. Everyday I see people addicted to drugs and try and help them, yet for some odd reason I can't fix my addiction for carts. @_@
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I suppose it all began for me the first time I stepped into an arcade perhaps 25 or so years ago. I was about 7 years old and the smoke filled, darkly lit room filled my senses like nothing before. Shortly after that for X-Mas my uncle bought me an Atari 2600 with 30 some odd games at a flea market. I fell in love. :) So I guess that's when I started collecting. I still have almost every game I have ever bought/was given, traded for...
In anycase my uncle worked in an arcade for several years and that's where I spent virtually my entire childhood. I later worked there also under the table for free games and $10 a day.. Hey I was only 12 years old. What more could I ask for?!
As the years went by I entered an won a local Temptest contest which first got me interested in Twin Galaxies and the like. Sadly like many of the arcades it closed down. I ended up with a few machines before the rest where taken to the dump, sold or some other uncertain end. Got my Tempest! :) Anyway, my collection is not huge by the standards placed here, but over all I have what I love and them some.

Well I didnt start collecting anything till about 2001...anytime before then I was just a gamer 24/7. I kinda lost interest in games for about 3 years then I came back. I just started going to second hand stores that were selling used games...but they were in mint/near-mint condition and bought them up as they were cheap. Thats where it started when I bought my first Sega CDX...since then...I havent stopped collecting. Gaming has been my life.

Hello, Jason Egitto here from Rome NY. I am 18 years old and have been playing games since I could pick up the controller, which was around the NES age.
I have a dream to collect all games for every system, but with my poor amount of money saved up I wont be acheiveing that dream too soon. Right now I am trying to find complete lists of all games released in the US, for any system that has stopped making games. I have all of the Nintendo lists (from Nintendo.com). Anything will do, but I want them to be pretty reliable. If anyone could find official lists, like the ones from Nintendo.com (or any reliable lists), please PM them to me.
Thank you... Egitto.[/img]

Check the Online Rarity Guide link above (or on the DP front page) - here at DP we've got lists for just about every system you can think of, and probably a few you can't :) They're all more reliable then any 'official' lists which almost always have a few omissions or error in them.

Well, after a long time reading, I have finally descided to post. My name is Stephen and live in St. Louis, MO USA. Came across DP a few years ago when searching for some part numbers for the Atari Jaguar. Games I am currently playing are Fantazy Zone II for the Master System, Tempest 2000 on the Jag and for some reason I am hooked on Kaboom! again.
I have a renewed interest again in collecting classing games and am starting from scratch... again.
Systems I am currently collecting are:
Atari 2600
Atari Jaguar
Sega Master System
Sega Gensis
Sega Dreamcast
Nintendo
Super Nintendo
Nintendo 64
3D0
X Box
Playstation 1 & 2
Gamecube
Currently in extended layoff from a software company that was sued to death. Back to painting/rehab work for now but it has given me the free time to get back into gaming :)
I'm now kicking myself in the ass for what I have sold and given away over the years. If I could only have it all back.
Nice meeting you all.

Hello, my name is CartCollector and I am now registered to post here! I found Digital Press by looking on Amazon for a good classic game rarity guide. Since then, I have embarked on a collecting quest that left me knowing a lot more about gaming than ever before! AND a lot more games than ever before! You cannot have too many (good and/or rare) games! I am starting to sound like a Odyssey2 add!
Favorite games? Hmmm... Donkey Kong Countries 2 & 3 are great, though 2 is a bit hard at the start. I liked and finished Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and Super Mario Sunshine. I got started on Super Mario 64, but some directions are vauge. And of course, I like the one that started it all, Super Mario Bros. Currently I am hooked on the Time Crisis series, but mostly on Crisis Zone. Harder than the others (especially Challenge mode) but the bullet damage shown onscreen is BEAUTIFUL.

But since I started coming here & seeing all the stuff these great collectors have, I was shock to see they are alot of good stuff they have & I don't, so I actually started collecting a few months ago & will continue until I can't no more. I just want to say thanks to the owner & members of these forums for the inspiration ya gave me to start collecting what I love to do. "Peace"

Hi. My name is Charles, A.KA. Atari Charles. I am a whopping 34 years old. I was an ESL Teacher and English Tutor, but now I am a salesman dealing with gaming gear and Digital Cameras. I'm mostly into the Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Vic-20, and NES. I hack Atari 2600 games in my spare time, have a huge interest is guitar pre-amplifiers(tube ones), and am interested in learning more about assembly language.
People either really like me or really hate me. I guess I have one of those kinds of personalities.
I have finished a hack of game called Cyplix, which I hope to sell online. There are a few contests going where you can win one of these carts.

Ok, My name is Ryan and I work at a car dealership( in service NOT in sales) I've been called the Mike Tice of service managers since I couldnt spend any money and I no longer have that job. I've been collecting games since 1995 when I picked up a toploader from Kaybee toys. Granted I had other systems, but i didnt consider it a collection. 1 Atari 400, 800 and Atari XE
1 Imagination Station APF1000

1 Colecovision
3 NES, One toploader two toaster
2 SNES
5 Genesis 1 and 2, 2 sega cd both versions, 3 32x systems
2 Dreamcast's

1 3DO
1 TI/99
1 Channel F
3 Mattel Aquarius
1 RCA Studio II
2 Sega master systems

Various handheld systems as well, and two pinball machines
So like I said I have lots of systems, and are slowly collecting games as time and money allow. I also have to defeat a webblocker in order to look at this page at my work, so I would say I'm hooked.
I'm working on getting pictures of my collection posted, I just forget to do it when I get home.

I guess this is where I say hello.
My name is Mark. I live in Akron, Ohio, in the US. (Actually, a suburb, but Akron is somewhat recognizable to people from the area.) I found the forums after hearing about (and ordering) the Rarity guides. I have both of those books now, and they're great.
My all-time favorite games are Star Ocean 2, Dr. Mario, Metal Slug X, Dig Dug, Saturn Bomberman, Radiant Silvergun, Final Fantasy 6 (3), Suikoden 2, and Mega Man 2/3.
In general, I tend to love RPGs and great shooters. Recent games I have gotten into are Morrowind, KOTOR 2, Prince of Persia (the new ones), and the Wind Waker.
I collect games for the NES, Gameboy, GBA, Saturn, Genesis, SNES, PSX, N64, Dreamcast, Atari 2600, and to a lesser extent, Gamecube, Ps2, and XBOX.
Mostly, I play my MAME cabinet, which I just finished building last month. I recommend that everyone gets around to doing this someday. I have some great tips on how to get it done quickly. I did most of the work in 1 weekend.
In real life, I am a registered nurse in a CCU. I was married this summer and I am 24 years old.
My first game system was an Atari 2600, followed by an Apple 2/e, and finally a Nintendo. However, much of my young gaming took place on my friend's commodore 64, with his amazing huge boxes of cracked games.
Anyway, I came here in refuge from such terrible sites as Gamefaqs.com. Help!

I work for the county government. (All I'm willing to say...sorry!)
I found this site as a result of just trying to locate information on some of the older systems.
I currently collect for the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast, Sony PS One (to a small degree) and N64 (to a smaller degree.)
I like a little bit of everything when it comes to games. (Oddly enough one of my faves is Monopoly for the NES!) My girlfriend likes the Mario games, Zelda, Kirby, and Pokemon.
Well, I think that's it....hope to talk to y'all soon!

Hello, my name is Brian Dick and I live in Lockport, NY just outside of Buffalo
I have been a collector of video games (and computers too) for years now and I still have many of the games I grew up playing including my 2600 Sunnyvale Woody in the box and my Colecovision w/the Adam expansion module.
I don't really limit my collection to a specific system(s), I collect what ever I can get my hands on in the "Wild". Here's a link to my listing of systems:
http://www.old-computers.com/club/collectors/consoles.asp?c=3909
In real life I work for a bank and do computer programming on a number of systems and I am married with three young boys.

Name's Mike. I'm from Calgary, Alberta. Formerly registered as the_wizard_666, but after changing my email address, I never got my verification email. Figured instead of going through the process of finding out who to talk to and trying to figure it out, I'd just open a new account. So whoever's in charge, feel free to dump the old account...I'll just run with this one, unless it's against some forum rule or something. Anyway, I digress.
Although I collect games for many systems (lost count around 15 or so and don't feel like doing an accurate count...probably 18 systems owned, games for 20...something like that), my first love is my NES. I've only been actively collecting for 3 or 4 years, but in that time I've amassed a small but respectable collection of NES games (168 unique titles at last count, with over half at least partially complete and 1/3 or so complete) with some of the highlights being a boxed Big Nose Freaks Out and a complete Uncharted Waters.
Anyway, I'm rambling now...I'll just finish off that since I'm trying to focus on the NES, I'm perfectly willing to trade from my other collections for anything I need.

I'm Zoe, I'm 17 and live in Illinois. I found the forums a long time ago, but never felt pushed to join until now.
My favorite games would be an ever changing list, but my pretty much permanent top three are Legend of Zelda: Link to The Past, Shenmue II, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Followed by many others, which includes in no particular order, Contra, Super Mario World, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Sonic 2+3, Air Zonk, and more...
I collect for pretty much anything, though the bulk of my collection is NES titles. I own over three hundred at the moment. I also have rather decent collections of plenty of other systems. Having almost 800 games total.
I began collecting a few years ago when I bought Bee 52 for the NES. I decided that I would collect all the unlicensed games because unlicensed games were cool. After a while that changed into collecting everything NES releated, which later expanded to every game available to me.

Hi, my name is PJ, also known as Game_over
I've been playing videogames since I was taking a crap in dipers. I was able to play and beat Zelda, and Super Mario Brothers, at the age of 5. I am 18 and I like Modding, Sex, Retrogames, New games, and every thing in this industry. I am aspired to be a Game Creator. It may seem like it, but I am not really a nerd, or any thing like that, I am just passionate about games.
I have all current and classic systems that was released in the US.

Hello. My name is Samantha. I'm not much of a collector, I mostly just play video games and make video game related crafts. My boyfriend Cryomancer is the collector.
I play mostly RPGs, Platformers, and I'm just getting into first person shooters.
The first game I ever played was Smurfs for the ColecoVision. My favorite games are Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Zelda(I do collect Zelda games for some reason), and Casino Kid.

Hello, my name is Ian. I am 24 and reside in Tennessee with my wife and daughter. My wife and I both enjoy gaming though we are more players than collectors. I am into every genre, and even those games that might be considered genre-less LOL I am more a Sega man than anything else, but I do enjoy every system I own, which includes most since the 8-bit days, save the Xbox, which I have no real interest in at this time.
I love the forums here, and have come here for info for a bit now. Decided it was time to jump in and join the fun. :)

Hello everybody! This is my new name; I had an older account here, but I haven't posted in about a year so decided it was time to start fresh.
My name is Joe, I am 15 years old, and I currently reside in a quaint little (little as in less than 1.8 sq. mi.) suburban town about 27 miles north of NYC. I found these forums quite a while ago, most likely through some google searches.
Currently, I am trying to limit myself to collecting only boxed N64 games and boxed SFC (Japanese SNES) games, despite, I oft times find myself buying Dreamcast, Genesis, Saturn, and Gamecube games. I also collect anime DVDs and manga. My hobbies tend to leave my wallet gasping for breath.
My favorite games include, but are not limited to: Super Mario RPG: LotSS, Zelda: OoT, Zelda: ALttP, Donkey Kong Country 1 + 2, Shenmue I + II, Jet Grind Radio, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Skies of Arcadia, NiGHTS: Into Dreams, Diablo II: LoD, Final Fantasy Tactics, Mario Kart 64, Harvest Moon 64, and undoubtedly some others that I am forgetting as of now.
As far as "real life" is concerned, most of my time is occupied by high school. This is mainly because I commute (via mass transit) to NYC to go to school, about an hour each way. Couple this with the few clubs that I belong to, and I can easily have a 13-16 hour day. No time for gaming!!! AH!!
I really want to become a part of this community because I really enjoy retro gaming and everyone here seems very pleasant. I want to make use of the buying/selling forum in the future as well. I probably will not be doing much in the way of trading or selling, for my collection is too small to do so yet, and my finds are few and far between.
I hope I assimilate well, and maybe make some good friends along the way!
Thanks!

Hello to everyone :)
My name is Robert I live in Las Vegas, nevada
I'm married to a very very gamer friendly wife and we have 5 kids.
My side of the family collects Games and systems so as of now I'm playing catch up with my father he owns most everything console (aside from the Neogeo hehe) and I frequently play on Xbox live with my father.
I'm a gaming hobbiest, There almost isn't a system I don't collect for I just recently came into a NeoGeo Home system, which is something I've been drooling for since It first came into being. Other then the neo I own all the latest systems as well as a Sega Saturn, N64, PSone, Dreamcast, Sega Genesis + CD, Neogeo Pockett.
I found these forums doing some google research on MVS Neogeo carts and it's popped up a couple of times when I've googled for some supergun projects. So I've lurked in it a few times and felt it was time to make an account and join in on the fun.
thanks for reading :)

Hi everyone!
I'm Socheata (yes, that's my real name) and I'm hailing from Fresno, Cali. I'm 18 years of age attending Fresno City College as a freshman.
Alright, enough on my personal life. :P I'm a regular over at . And I'm a staff writer/message board moderator over at <A HREF=http://dpadjunkies.com>D-Pad Junkies (http://hooligansofthenight.com>Hooligans). I've been browsing message boards for a little over four years now. And I've been gaming for nearly 15 years. The consoles/handhelds I currently own are as follows: Nintendo (regular), Nintendo (top loader), Genesis (Model 2), SNES, Sega Saturn, PlayStation (two of 'em), PSOne w/Sony LCD screen, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PStwo, GameCube (Jet Black), Xbox, Game Boy Pocket (Yellow and Black), Game Boy Color (Pink and Torquoise), Game Boy Advance (Arctic White), Nintendo DS, and a Neo Geo Pocket (Blue). I'm not much of a PC gamer, but I do have a decent rig (Intel Pentium 4, 2.8GHz, 120GB hard drive, 512MB RAM and some crappy pre-installed video card).
I enjoy playing all types of games. Music, FPS, action, adventure, fighting, weird-style Kamatari Damacy-type video games... Yep, I love 'em all.
QOF spoke good of this place. But I never joined up until now. So I should give a thanks to her. :)

Hi, gang.
i'm Nat and I live in Texas. The way that I got introduced to the forum was through my boyfriend, who is an active member of the website. (Although he has 36 posts, he checks the website DAILY so I consider him active) Lol
Oh, and for all of you who are just sitting on the edges of your seat just WAITING for me to tell you who it is, it's ChronoTriggaFoo. Yes, the only reason he's dating me is because I like video games..... Lol J/k >_>;
Although if someday he told me that was why, I wouldn't be surprised.
I hope to contribute what little knowledge of retro-gaming I have and my love for video games in general to this website as much as I can.
I am indeed a young'un, tipping the scales at 18. I grew up quite sheltered, and my mother thought that Disney was the devil's work so I didn't get much exposure to gaming until my later years. Actually, not until I was about 11 or 12. I was introduced to my first RPG when I was about 13 or 14. In that short while, though, I've become quite a fan. Anime is my true passion, and drawing is something I do well, but gaming (and perhaps even collecting?) come in a very close second.
Thank you for staying with me this long. And if you didn't, well.... you suck. Then again, if you didn't make this far, and you're not reading this, would you indeed be offended that I'm offended that you didn't read it all the way through? Huh?! ......... well, I'll leave it at that.
Deuces!

Hey ya!
Great site. My names Alex and I'm a newbie here. I'm a studen and I'm from Holland. I've already seen I've got some catching up to do; lot's of info here! It's great to se so much activity around "vintage" gaming. I really enjoyed the download thingies. As a matter of fact I'm listening to a Contra medley right now. And those video's! Great stuff! Btw: Contra kicks ass! It's one of my favorite MSX games ever. Speaking of which: MSX! Remember it? If you do: what do you remember?!
Anyhow: Konami did some really great stuff on the MSX! Everybody -and I mean EVERYBODY!- should play SD Snatcher once! This is truly -and this is not just because it's MSX- one oof the greatest games ever!
Well, I think I'm gonna have a great time on this forum! And I hope I can answer all your questions concirning MSX ;)
Ciao!

Hi folks,
My name is esteban / steve and here's the scoop:
- Where you live
Lakewood, CA (next to Long Beach)
- How you found the forums
By accident several years ago.
- What your favorite games are
hahahahahahhaa. too long to list :)
- What systems you collect for
all platforms, but an empasis on pre-1993 consoles / computers
- Any other interesting facts
I grew up in Bloomfield, NJ and remember picking up an early issue of Digital Press at a local comic book/D&D shop. The store was somewhere in Verona or Montclair... and there was a crazy dude named Carl that used to work there. Anyway, I had no money and Carl suggested that I grab some flyers and zines. I had never seen a videogame zine (only music zines)... so Digital Press was pretty kool. All I remember about the issue is that TG-16's Blazing Lazers was profiled in it.
Anyway, now I am working on two sites that TG-16 fans might dig:
TURBOPLAY MAGAZINE ARCHIVES (http://home.comcast.net/~turboplay-magazine-archives-tg16/) ..... Offers brief histories of TG-16 magazines and lots of page scans for your reading enjoyment. I need help sorting out the publication histories of DUOWORLD and TURBOFORCE (and acquiring issues).... so any help would be greatly appreciated.
BASE NECTARIS (USA) (http://home.comcast.net/~base_nectaris_military_madness/) ..... Everything you ever wanted to know about Nectaris, Military Madness and Earth Light (turn-based strategy games from Hudson Soft). I am pretty sick-to-death of this site, but I will continue to work on it every now and then.
peace.

Hello, My name is Otterpop/Erik, I'm 25 years old from Ypsilanti MI. I found the forums through cheapassgamer.com, and have been lurking for about a week or so. Right now I'm collecting for Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Gameboy/GBC/GBA, Nintendo DS.
In real life I'm work desktop support for a large university medical school, and work on motorcycles and play video games in my free time. I'm currently in the process of buying my first house which will have a dedicated video game room.

Hey. I'm Brett from Newark, Delaware. I'm not sure how I found the forums. One day I just ended up here somehow. It was probably eBay related.
I don't really collect for any system in particular. I just pick up games that I either like or think I will like. I also buy in the wild and sell on eBay to pay for my excessive gaming habit.
I love RPGs, my favorite series being Lunar, followed by FF. I've beat many an RPG in my old age and won't stop until I've beat all the good ones.
The only current gen console I own is the X-Box. I just can't justify paying $50 per game when there is so much cheap goodness waiting out there. Right now I spend most of my gaming time on the PS1, althoug my modded Saturn gets regular workouts as well.
Anyway, that's about all there is. Love the site.

Hey I'm new here. Well I've been cruising around the site for about a Week now, however this is my first night on the forums. I came to the forums tonight with the intention of asking a question in regard to the Hanimex's rarity (or lack thereof). I thought I'd use the search tool first but it's down so I'll post that q when the search engine s back up.
Anyway My name is Jamie or Coojam (old High school nickname). I'm mainly a sega collector, but Am planning to move into other areas. I currently own a Sega master system (and a stack of games), A sega Dreamcast ( and 4 games), and I've got a Suturn coming down from Aucland, so I should have that in a week, and just purchased today a "Hanimex TVG070G TV game programmable" console with some games.
I am constatnly strapped for cash which makes collecting difficult.
Anyway I look foreward to chatting ith you all at a later date
Oh and By the way I live in Upper Hutt, inthe suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand
Take care, Coojam

Hello everyone!
My name´s Lars and I´m from Sweden in Europe and I have just started to build a Jamma test rig. Since my experience with arcade projects and electronics in general isn´t so good, I thougt why not join a game forum so I can get help when ever I run into problems or just isn´t sure about something. Anyway when i play games (if I´m home and not in any arcadehall) it´s mostly console type RPG´s (especially the Final Fantasy and the Shenmue-series), but i also like games like Crash Bandicot and Sonic the hedgehog.
Well where I live there are not alot of places were you actually can play old arcadegames so when I began to search for info about the test rig I found this place. Hopefully, if my test rig will work, I will try to build a adapter so I can play old NeoGeo MVS games like Metal Slug (one of my favourite arcadegames). :D
Best regards, Lars

Greetings,
I'm Robert from North Carolina. Currently, I'm earning my Master's in library and information science at UNC, Chapel Hill. So, pretty much I'm a student for two days of the week and a stay at home dad for the rest.
I collect for the Intellivision, Sega Master System, Dreamcast, Gamecube, and Xbox. I've got a pretty hefty pile of PC games, but I spend so much time in front of a computer for work that I have now gravitated away from them during my leisure time. My collection is pretty small due to limited funds and because there are many titles that I simply don't care about. I suppose I like rpgs, platformers, and anything whimsical or unusual. I don't have any desire to be a completist, but I will pick up a rarity if I find one even if the title is not the sort of thing I would normally enjoy.
I'm pretty new to collecting, and have a great deal to learn. That's why I was pleasantly surprised to find this site after searching for rarity guides relevent to the systems I own. You guys seem to be a cut above the crowd at the usual fansites.

I'm Daniel (aka Danny, Dan, Dan-O). I'm from Houston, Texas and 28 years old. I'm currently doing freelance work in the Multimedia and Web Design field.
I've got a humble NES, Dreamcast, PS2, PS1, Saturn, GBA, SNES and PC collection going.
I've also just recently put together a collection of Genesis games I owned as a kid, so I guess you can add that to the list as well!
Good games, good memories! 8-)

hi shroudz here, iv'e been reading the forums for years but rarely post. Iv'e been collecting for several years though. I collect mainly for most systems but only select items. my most obsecure system is probalbly a european sg 1000 sega unit. I have over 50 different systems and many variations.
I reside in Australia so we miss out on a lot of the cool stuff like the turbografx so i import some stuff. I collect mostly pal stuff but have quite a few import games and systems as well..I started collecting mostly through secondhand stores houses markets etc like most people and kinda graduated to collecting through contacts and auctions as a lot of the stuff i began to look after was just plain imposible to find and too time consuming.

Hey all! My name is David and Im from San Diego, Ca. Video Games are my passion, I eat, sleep and crap them (the neo-geo aes ones hurt on the way out the most!) Any ways...I came acrossed this site a few days ago while looking for a video game price guide and it seems great! Im a member Of The Neo-Geo.com forums as dbarrett0928 but i sold off my neo geo aes collection for a hefty penny and now regret it. I collect NES games and systems as well.
In real Life? Well, lets just say I call your house whn you dont pay bills! Thats right, a BILL COLLECTOR...Not to be confused with telemarketing. Im 22 and have a girlfriend and 2 Mini Pinscher Dogs. Next to gaming, I like to go to the desert and hit the sand dunes on my dirt bike...Thanks and hope to speak with many of you soon!
Oh, and my all time favorite game is Tecmo Super Bowl for NES.

Hello, my first post, yet another forum virgin, sigh.
My name is Sean and I live in the wonderful world of Iowa, which is why I collect games because there's not much else to do here.
I've been playing various games on various systems for years (I remember owning an Intellivison, a Colecovision, and an Atari though those memories are kinda fuzzy), but I've only recently begun to start collecting games. This is due in major part to one of my best friends becoming the assistant manager of a recently opened GameCrazy store. Seeing that I could buy a buttload of NES carts for a few bucks a piece I started picking up a few titles and it very quickly became an obsession. So now my goal is to own every single NES game I possible can.
Searching for a complete list of NES games is actually what brought me to this site in the first place, and I find that I just keep coming back, again and again.
So here I am and there you are and it's nice meeting you. Hope to help anybody anyway I can and vice versa.

Hi, I'm new to the boards, think I found them a week or so ago linked on cheapassgamer.com.
I've been gaming since the 2600 days (I'm 25, my dad had one, him and I played a lot when I was really young), my own personal first system was the 7800, then the NES. I sold my system and entire collection of the former to buy a game for the latter (Astyanax if I remember correctly) and I've regretted it ever since.
Most of my collection is on the current gen systems, mostly because cheap games are overly abundant, but I've been filling out my PS1 collection lately as well. Long term dreams are to get a Turbo Duo and Neo Geo AES, but that's not likely for awhile. Unfortunately my day job as a full time PhD student keeps me from playing as much as I'd like.
Anyway, these look like great forums, and I may post my "Room of Doom" in the near future, though it'll look downright pathetic compared to most others I've seen!

Hey there. I figure I've been lurking on these boards long enough. It's time for an introduction. I live in Portland, OR. I stumbled across the sight while trying to find out how rare the Sega CD's "Popful Mail" was.
My introduction to video gaming was the Sega Master System which I tried, desperatley, to stay loyal to despite the fact that everyone in the known universe had an NES. I probably would have given in if not for my love of "Choplifter".
Most of my collecting falls in with the Master System, Genesis, and Sega CD, although I'm getting pretty close to finally picking up an NES deck.
My top five favorites (in no particular order)
Lunar: the Silver Star (sega CD)
Strider (genesis)
Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)
Ghouls N' Ghosts (Genesis)
Jet Set Radio (Dreamcast)

Micky Wright here, from westport CT. I stumbled upon this website when I had wanted to get an atari 2600, and I had seen the DP Collector's guide over at atari age a couple years ago.
At the moment, I am finshing up high school, and trying to aquire complete DC and NGPC collection. I also hope to get a complete sealed 32X collection one day, although I'm going to have to do some searching for a factory sealed Spiderman. I can't really give favorite games as that is too broad for me to make a decision on. Typically I dislike most sports games, though I have more of an appreciation for older ones. And I also have a knack for liking unique games that don't fit the typical game formulae that the industry has fallen into.

Yet another classic gamer from the DC area. I've been buying the Digital Press price guides for 5 or 6 years now, and I've visited the site from time to time. But I just recently decided to join the forums. I used to post on rec.games.video.classics back in the day, but left when it became more bickering than gaming discussion.
My gaming interests pretty much cover all kinds of systems throughout the years, consoles as well as handhelds and computers. I've got two arcade cabinets, one Ms. Pacman and the other a generic JAMMA system, with about 20 arcade boards. I've been collecting since the mid 90's, and I've probably got about a thousand games by now. Lately I've concentrated more on import Japanese gaming, but my interests tend to sway between different eras. My favorite kinds of games are shmups and RPGs.
I usually go to thrift stores and flea markets weekly, where I find most of my stuff. I also buy off of ebay and yahoo auctions Japan.
These are my consoles:
RCA Studio II, Vectrex, Emerson Arcadia 2001, Hanimex Pong clone, Magnavox Odyssey 1, Magnavox Odyssey 3000, Magnavox Odyssey 2, Fairchild Channel F, Atari Pong, Atari 2600 (several models), Atari 5200
Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, Nintendo Famicom (several clones, too), Famicom Disk Drive, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Virtual Boy, Intellivision (1 and 2, plus an Intellivoice), Colecovision, Sega Master System (1 and 2), Sega Genesis (1 2 and 3), Sega 32x, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Neo Geo MVS (Techincally arcade, but I've got a supergun), Neo Geo CD, 3DO, FM Car Marty ("Car" version of FM Towns game system/computer), NEC Turbografx 16, NEC Turbo Duo, NEC PC-FX, Sony Playstation, Sony Playstation 2, Nuon (Samsung N2000)
Handhelds....

How I found the forums: I found Digital Press via the Classic Gaming Syndicate
Webring & have been viewing the Forums from afar
for the last few months. I had been a member of
the GameTZ community for roughly 1/2 a year, but
was turned off by some events & user behavior.
My favorite Games: Too many to mention, but if I were to skim, I'd say
Galaga, Dragon Warrior(Quest) series, Shining series,
Final Fantasy series, Lunar series, Resident Evil series,
Silent Hill Series, Splatterhouse Series, Shenmue series,
Ikaruga & Border Down.
Systems I collect for: Atari 2600 (just system - no games yet)
Intellivision (5 complete games - no system yet)
NES
SNES
Genesis/Sega CD
GameGear (just system - no games yet)
TurboGrafx/PC engine
Saturn
PSX
N64
Dreamcast
Occupation: Information Technology servant for an insurance company
Interesting (or not) facts: I've only been into gaming for a little over 3 years
now, so I have much catching up to do with the
rest of the Digital Press community collecting wise.
Since my job & band occupy most of my time,
gaming/collecting comes in at a very close third
(but it is still a very dear love to me). What drew
me to Digital Press is the lack of users whose
primary form of communication is OMFG, RO><OR
or PWN, which really turned me off from other
communities. Seeing how knowledgeable, polite
and generally courteous the users are here is what
ultimately led me to joining this community & I'm
truly looking forward to interacting with all of you.
Well, enough of my jibbajabba. Carry on...

Wow, I looked WAY too long for an intro thread/section. Anyway...I'm new.
My name is Erik, I'm 21, and I live in Minnesota. I'm fairly new to game collecting, but it's my interest in that which has drawn me to the boards. I currently have 8 consoles and about 100 games over all of them, but am always looking for more of both. I've also begun collecting the 20 games on Seanbaby/EGM's Crapstravaganza list (3 down, 17 to go). I couldn't ever decide on a favorite game ever, but Super Metroid and Castlevania: SotN are definitely up there. I'm currently unemployed, but I recently left my job at GameStop.
I think that covers the stuff mentioned in the first post...if anyone else wants to ask me something or get to know me further, send me an IM or PM. :)

I'm Tony. Various screen names on varoius sites. Mainly Untamed.
18 years of age. (Moved out, thank god.)
I live in Vancouver BC, Canada.
I found the forums a while ago while browsing a Sega Saturm forum. I lurked, then registerd, then made my first post today.
My favorite games... That's a tough question. VERY.
Most fighting games, except Tekken and Virtua Fighter.
Most RPGs, mainly pre new-gen systems. Dreamcast and before.
Currently playing (again, in most cases):
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Chrono Cross
Final Fantasy IV
Star Ocean: The Second Story
I collect for any system I can get my hands on.
MY systems are, so far:
Famicom
NES
SNES
Genesis
SegaCD
Saturn
PSX (Stolen from me)
N64 (Stolen from me)
Deamcast (Stolen from me)
I have to replace a few systems after the house was robbed. :(
Game list is: http://users.ign.com/collection/lowbay
"Real Life" is irrelevent. Regardless, I need one eventually.
Interesting facts about me?
Can't have interesting facts about someone who is uninteresting. Unless you try VERY hard, but you might pop a vein.

Hey everyone, im from Ontario, Canada, and im 17 years old and have been playing video games ever since my brother and I got a Sega Master System for Christmas. I am not a hardcore collector YET since im young, but I do have a handful of newer PS2 games since thats what I mostly play, and one day I will build up my collection with older games. I found this site a few years ago while looking for video game lists so I can find every game released.
My favorite games are ALL of them except for RPG's, I just cant stand them. Some games that stand out from the rest are Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Rock N Roll Racing, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time, Sonic.
Systems that I own:
Dreamcast (Paid $20 CAN from a friend)
Game Boy Pocket (I borrowed this from some kid and never returned it)
Game Gear (Bothered my parents for it back in the day)
PS2 (Got it on my b-day, and I have the Limited Edition GT3 Racing Pack)
SNES (Got it for Christmas when it came out)
And the Sega Master System hasnt worked for a bunch of years, although I still do have a few great games.
And get used to seeing me here, cause im gonna be on the forums regularly now.

Hey I'm Cat-Mince from NZ. i'm starting to Collect PAL Dreamcast games. I currently have
Phantasy Star Online v2 ;)
and that's it hahah
one down 216 to go :D
Well i've been bouncing around the boards for a while ... guess it's about time to introduce myself.
- Who you are
My name us Dustin and I am a gamer/collector, yup imagine that.
- Where you live
I currently reside in the great state of tennessee. In my hometown there is a gas station, a grocery store, a post office, and a welcome center. If there are any other gamers in the TN, KY area give me a holler.
- How you found the forums
I was searching on the net for lists of games for systems after I read an article in EFM about places to look for cheap games and i noticed this site in the mag. I checked it out and I liked what I saw
- What your favorite games are
As of right now If I where going arcade it would Be Ms. Pac-man, Double Dragon, and Mat-Mania. Console I have to say Contra, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Brigandine and Suikoden.
- What systems you collect for
I collect for every system. I used to think I had a decent sized collection until I got here. Then I felt like crying for mommy. :)
- What you do in "real life"
At this time I am attending college for a degree in game design. I've always wanted to design games. Anybody that can offer any advice on the subject let me know.
- Any other interesting facts, like how you began collecting, etc.
I've always been a big gamer. I got into collecting because I wanted to play games. I figured it would make me a better designer to play as many games as I can and learn from them. It also gives me a good excuse to pawn all my game purchases off as research whenever I catch flack over it.

HI.
My Name is Matt Du De Voire. I live in new holstein, WI about 20 miles away from Sheboygan. used to live in random lake, then moved to germantown.
I Heard about this site probably from Tips n tricks.... to tell the truth I cant remember anymore. :/
I Have many consoles in my collection, but I enjoy collecting NES and SNES.
I truthfully like genesis, but thoughts of nintendo dance in my dreams as of late.
I loved genesis in my grade school days. :-P So much that I put a "Sega Power"
patch on my soccer uniform. But the clincher on this is I didnt own a sega until a few years later! What i used to do was rent a Genesis system at the local video store called "video city". it came with 1 game and costed
SIX DOLLARS! And I could only rent it for a day!
I have many favorite games like the sonic genesis games and mega man NES games and the Zelda games, but It all depends.
Here's to Many happy gaming conversations! 8-)
Also If anybody can tell me how to help out for the Midwest gaming expo, I'd appreciate it. I would probably like to help out with things like promoting or something.

Anders Carlsson here. I was born in 1975 and live since then in Västerås, Sweden (a 120,000 city about 100 km west of Stockholm, if that makes more sense to you).
I knew of Digital Press since many years ago, but never thought it had a forum. Also, I am already on so many forums that I shouldn't really join one more.. anyway, I found this forum through browsing Big Boards listing of the really big forums around the world. So much for not looking for more forums to join.
Favourite games.. thankfully I posted that on another forum a while ago, so I can recapitulate some of it: M.U.L.E., Premier Manager 1, Speedball II, Lotus III, Great Giana Sisters, Metagalalctic Llamas, Jelly Monsters, Tetris, Nethack, Freecell (Windows card game). From that and my posts so far you can make out I'm coming from the VIC-20/C64/Amiga direction.
I don't really collect, more use and try to develop new stuff, mainly on the VIC-20. If I had the money, space and connections I may collect more. Over here gaming stuff is rarely seen on flea markets, second hand shops, auctions etc. Maybe something on the Internet auction market, but so far I'm a newbie on buying things on the net and particulary shipping. Thus I don't even have an eBay account (but get the hoax warnings through email about my account all the time).
In real life, I am a web developer. Not web designer, I'm not good with images, colours, user interfaces and stuff. I work with a small travel community which strives to get bigger over time.
On my spare time, I play the alto saxophone in a symphonic wind orchestra in my town (we've become Swedish champions thrice on four attempts!). I also maintain our website of course.

Meh another into topic. Just wandered into the forums for the first time actually.
Who am I: Full name is Jake Baldwin. 19 years old, live in England.
Finished school, not bothered with the whole college thing yet, may do someday, but for now I'm just earning some cash to feed my purchasing.
Interests: In terms of gaming, my main intersts are Sega-related gaming, RPG's and anime-related gaming. The kinda guy who'd buy all those anime games on the Saturn that are probably not actually any good.
I also have a slight interest in backup units and modchips, but I just like to tinker with them, fun stuff.
I'm sure you can gather from the above that I am also into anime. I suppose I'm really into all Japan-orientated gaming, from Sony to NEC... just sway to Sega. Huge Saturn fan, bit of a SegaCD and 32X lover too.
Myself: Myself on a personal level... very quiet person, but not shy. I say something when I feel something has to be said. I am male, but I get mistaken for a female all the time at work, mainly because of my long-ish black hair and pale skin (yeah, sound like a typical goth don't I - unintended).
Game Collecting Habbits: I kinda said all this above really, but nevertheless... Sega stuff, RPG stuff, anime stuff... most Japanese-gaming stuff in fact. Generally not wester games, but there are exceptions.
Generally, I tend to buy Saturn or SegaCD/32X games. Affordable, easy to collect. Will likely expand to PCE at some point.
I've bored you all enough.

as for how i started collecting it wasn't so much a concious decision as much as it is that i have a problem getting rid of things even if i don't use them.

Hey all. I trust you are well! My name is Paul and I hail from Edinburgh in the UK. I've been lurking on these boards for a few weeks and it seems like you have all got a great community going on here so I feel it's about time to register. Can't remeber how I arrived here, probably through a google search for collecting video games or a link somewhere.
I've been gaming for 20+ years but I've really only just started collecting 'properly' as before I would buy a lot for my current gen systems but not a lot of retro stuff. I now mainly collect for Dreamcast (Jap imports being a favourite) and Megadrive, although I will pick up most things of interest regardless of the system, beat 'em ups and scrolling shooters being my favourites. Hey, I even just purchased my first display cabinet, a 7 foot high Ikea monster!
In my real life i'm a 28 year old, just married to my wife Fiona, study a programming course at college and work in a cheesemongers (I love eating!) I DJ a bit, produce a bit of music on cubase etc and make probably too many Gundam models. I also enjoy going out clubing and having some mad times with my friends....
Oh, and I can't believe out of 5000+ registered users on a video game forum, no one had taken the name special move! Good news for me as I use it everwhere I can. :)
Take care, Paul.

A few years later I got my own NES, for many years I was a Nintendo man until I met the Sega Saturn. The majority of my collection is listed here (http://users.ign.com/collection/ulticron). My friend Josh Nickerson introduced me to the website and suggested that I should join the forum as well. I'm looking foreward to hanging out and posting.

Hi there! I'm Mark from retrogaming website www.redkeyreddoor.com : I hail from the UK, so my gaming experience started with the cuddly little ZX Spectrum, and then it's a twenty-year haze of games from NES, Amiga, PC, SNES, Game Boy, Megadrive, N64, PlayStation, PS2, Xbox and more. Tough to pick a favourite game, but I must have lost more of my life to Rainbow Islands than any other game - the high-score that I racked up on the Amiga version was so ridiculously large (for the time!), the magazine I sent it to assumed I'd made it up. Damn them!

Currently have a gamecube which is a comeplete dissapointment as was the N64 in my eyes
Dreamcast is the only next gen console I've loved and Im fond of.
Currently in the EMU Scene for Imports, J releases,Arcade Memiories and some systems I never had the experience to play or own back in the day.

My name is Adam, and I've been at this for a while now. My interests mostly have to do with 8-bit systems, although I have do have some of the later stuff. I currently have around 10 consoles, ranging from a Super Pong Ten to a Sega Saturn. I also collect obsolete computers, old tube radios, tube amplifiers, rotary phones, and too many other things to list. My favorite video game system is the Atari 7800, which I had to build a replacement power supply for (made my first power connector for it from brass contacts and electrical tape, though my current connector is much more stable).

Hiya.Good to be here on the forums. Lesse, I'm a native Texan who just recently moved to Florida. My favorite console of all time is the SNES, so my interest is always piqued just a little more when it comes to SNES games. Anyway, yup.

Hullo. My names Chris. I'm 16 and live in the UK. I;ve been gaming for about 8 years, but didn't really see the point of keeping the boxes of games back then (wish I had though...). I found this place when I was looking for some pictures of a boxed SNES, and was blown away when I found the pictures of collectors rooms... I had no idea people collected games to such an extent! I'm not really a "hardcore" collector, as I don't really have enough money (or storage space in my room, for that matter) to buy loads of games. I've started a little Zelda collection, which might lead into others when I get a stable amount of income. :D

Hello,
Just wanted to say (for those of use who are not ashamed) I have shed loads of games, more than I can play and still I want more. There is always a japanese oddball shooter that misses the popular press' radar.
Being a kid is cool. Being an adult with money and the mind of a kid is cooler. Like an Atari-sponsored version of the Tom Hanks film "big".
1000+ games and counting (well trying to when I get a minute).
Most prized posession...... Ikaruga (dreamcast) because somebody long and hard enough to buy it me from ebay.
Favourite game (so far).... Super Mario 64. It never ages (give it a go).
Most wanted item..... Resident Evil 4 (gamespot video review made my hair stand up)

I'm Paul, I'm 29 and I live in the South West of England. I was directed to this forum partly by my love of all things electronic, my fondness of video games,of both new and retro variety, and most of all from an American friend on another forum, who posts on here.
I sometimes collect games for the PC, but mostly for my PS2. My current favourites are GTA San Andreas and Manhunt. I started collecting about three years ago after playing the first GTA3 game on the PS2 at a friends house. I was impressed by the gameplay, and went out the next day to get myself a PS2.
My first games console was an Atari "Grandstand", endorsed by the permed-haired England football legend, Kevin Keegan. This was about 1982, and I satill have it in mint condition and boxed. I am unfortunately missing the manual. Along the road I have also had a Nintendo Gameboy, Nintendo 8-bit and the SuperNintendo 16-bit consoles and a PS1.
I look forward to joining in lively discussions with you all.

Hi,my name's Matthieu, I'm 20 and I live in Quebec, Canada. My native language is french. I found the place when I was looking for a good rarity guide on the web. I bookmarked it and forgot about it until recently. I grew up with the nes and snes so they are my main focus in collection. I don't have much cash and there is a lack of good fleamarket here so I collect when I can, which is not enough for me, hehe. I currently own a GameCube for my current gen console I also have a Dreamcast. I guess I can be called a Nintendo fanboy, but I Like games which ever platform it's on. My best game ever is Chrono Trigger. Well I think I've said enough. Thanks for reading my first post :)

Well I should probably sign the guestbook here, now, considering I've been stumbling around this party for a little while and missed this book at the front door...
My name is Mike, I was 8 when we got the Atari 2600 the first christmas it came out. I've been a vidiot ever since- I've been collecting more seriously since 92. My main interest is everything NINTENDO- but I also have a love for the little blue hedgehog. Anything videogame interests me.
I found the site when a friend ("videogame collector" on the first page of the original game rooms page) directed me here. I been lurking around ever since.
I reside in the "Great White North" eh. In my mind it is "the mushroom kingdom" where Mario music plays ALL the time.
I am involved in the videogame industry- some of my customers refer to me as their "dealer"..... like videogames are addictive... well they're not illegal!
That is my hobby work- I also have a regular 8-5 job that really puts a damper on my game play time. Damn work!
I have my collection pics posted and my collection on record here- please feel free to PM me with any questions!!
See you around!

I feel a short introduction is in order.
I'm 27, been a gamer since Game & Watch days, moved on to the VIC20, C64, Amiga and at the same time I played a hell of a lot of NES at a friend's house. During those NES days my love for Nintendo was established and it's been a life-long love affair, although with age my fanatism has mellowed out somewhat. Anything japanese and good is on top of my list nowadays.

Endiga
02-24-2005, 03:41 AM
Hello there, folks. I'm Endiga.
I'm 19, and I live in Alabama. Actually came across Digitpress either through searching for 'rarity lists' or 'game collections', and I've been stuck on the forums since! Although I adored arcade games as a young lad and wanted an NES more than anything, my gaming days actually began on Christmas 1993 with a Genesis and a copy of Sonic 2.
Since then, I've been both a Sega fanboy and a Sonic fanboy, and I still like to collect the Sonic games to this day, no matter how crappy they might be. I also have a passing admiration for SHMUPs, a fondness for Treasure titles (be it Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Headdy, or Guardian Heroes), and a fine love for horror games. Silent Hill remains my favorite horror series of all time, but I also have a fine love for Clock Tower, the original Alone in the Dark, the original Resident Evil, and Siren.
As I've stated, I started out as a Sega fanboy, so I like to pick up games for the Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast (and, eventually, Game Gear). I do pick up PS/PS2 titles every now and then, as there are solid titles on the Sony consoles.
There are other notes, such as how I amassed 60 PC games or so before diving back into console gaming after a long break, or how I do crappy jobs for a living, but I believe that will do for now. Good to meet all of you!

Hi there, my actual name is Kieran. I’m 19 and live in the United Kingdom. I suppose I got into retro gaming over three years ago, but before that I had my brother Megadrive (my first console), but about 2 years ago I became a big fan of Sonic the hedgehog and focused on collecting him instead. I was never that much good at games but I loved to collect them, but I found that Sonic was a game I could master, and for some reason the mere fact it’s a Sonic game I’m playing persuades me to perceiver, whereas in another game I would just quit.
Anyway I’ve always keep my interest in retro gaming, but for me it’s not so much the games that interested me, but the atmosphere: design perceptions, marketing etc, of the individual gaming eras. I come here because I want to give my Sonic obsession a rest (I have over 63 Sonic games) and learn more about the individual systems.
I prefer collecting the gaming systems, it’s excitable owning a new system, at leased I know there’s no way I can fail by having one, like I normally would in a game. I don’t have a large collection of consoles, but I think it’s enough. The majority of the consoles I chose too buy is dictated by what Sonic games are available, that’s why most are SEGA consoles.

Hello, I guess I'm the newest n00b as of right now.
My name's Bill, I'm 33, married, two kids, and started gaming over 25 years ago when my parents bought my first Atari ( a Heavy Sixer, I have learned).
The systems I currently have hooked up are Gamecube, Xbox, Playstation 2, N64, Dreamcast, and a Jaguar w/CD. I also keep a Virtual Boy accessible. My relatively recent collecting focus has been the Jag and the VB, as it's relatively easy (if not terribly inexpensive) to build complete collections.
For the poster above, I'm also in northern Illinois (Zion).
Here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v238/ghettocar/setup.jpg) is my current setup:

I'm Tony, currently living in Canada. I am a university student studying computing science. I think I found the forums through Google, but I'm not quite sure anymore.
I buy games for the Dreamcast and the PS2, but I only own a DC. I steal my GF's PS2 to play my PS2 games LOL
I've been playing games ever since I got my 486DX2/66 way back when. I've been primarily a PC gamer until April 2004 when I bought my Japanese Dreamcast to play Shenmue and Virtual On. I had just finished buying all seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation on DVD and I thought that the DC would be just a small, one-time investment that I could afford even after such a large purchase.
I was very wrong -- after seeing some DC games going for so little money I started reading reviews, which brought my attention to more and more games, old and new, for all the consoles I've missed out on. I started buying and now it seems that there's always something else I want to get!

Hi my name is Jamie I’m 25 and I’m an abused ISP agent of doom, no hoper; I face the hoards of stupid everyday on the brink of financial and psychological ruin it’s just a matter of time before I lose it and go postal on everyone, overworked, underpaid the story of my life.
I like tacos, hamster shavings and long walks to the arcade. Instead of going home and beating up my imaginary wife and childrens I like to go home and game on, it makes me feel good.
My favorite games at the moment are:
Donkey Kong Country 2
Super Double Dragon
Double Dragon 2
Sonic 2
GTA VC
Street Fighter 3 Third Strike
House of the Dead 3
Go, go Ackman 3
King of Fighters 2002
Half Life

Tekken 3
Etc etc etc

Hello, my name is Brian and I'm hobby addict. (all other members): Hi, Brian!
It seems like I've had billions of hobbies in my life but this is the one I keep coming back to that holds my attention.
I live in the isolated city of Wichita -_- in the most laughable state of the union Kansas LOL .
I am currently in the process of collecting all rare NES games (gool\d luck, right.) This particular addiction probably stems from my childhood. I asked my parents to buy me a NES when it first came out. Five frickin years later when SNES was about to debut I got a crappy outdated NES and one crappy game. My video game talents were never nurtured by my parents who claimed I needed to focus on more important things like math and science.
Anyway, hope I can figure out some of the more advanced features here. Thanks to everyone for yor warm welcome, so warm that I have to ask - do you wanna make out?
Hey all, I'm Shep, a 19yr old classic-modern gamer with a love for Atari and Virtual Boy. I live in Lincoln IL., and attend Lincoln Christian College. I found these forums along with Atariage about three-four years ago and have been an avid poster on Atariage, and finally decided to join this one too. Of course it is far too hard to narrow down favorite games but some are, Bubble Bobble, FF II (US), Dig Dug, and Zelda Wind Waker. I don't collect for any console, I buy games to play them. That's it. I don't keep games in their original packaging, I rip 'em open and play them as they were made to be. In "real life" I work at a small town grocery store when I come home from college.
Interesting fact: I get enjoyment out of simple things such as, Lime Jello, POTATOES, and penguins!

Hello,
I am newly registered to these forums, but I am a long time visitor to the site.
I mostly only collect games that are of a specific interest to me, however I am working on my very first complete collection right now; 32X.
I found this site because I do work for another site where we are trying to archive all video games with box shots release dates for all consoles and PC. Members can create a virtual archive of the titles that they own which we have in our data base. It's a hard project, but fun to pass the time with.
I've found the Ditital Press guides to be a great tool as a checklist. The information provide by this website is a great asset.
Thanks Digital Press.

Hi I'm Johnny boy
I am 33 started collecting about 5 year ago (started playing atari). I always sold my older sytem to buy the newer one. Then I sold my super nes and games for $50 to get the 64.Well I sold kirbys avalanche my wifes favorite game the only video game she liked.
So after some "why did you sell the only game I liked"and " will there be a kirbys avalanche 64" I started looking for another copy(in the wild).no luck
Then I checked the net found DP and WOW all the games I had forgot about.aero biz ff mario zelda (I was bit of a nin fanboy) so I started hunting.
Garage sales hooked me , one of the first sat mornings following the "sale" sings I found it paydirt, big time, the one,YESssss....kirby and more, surper nes, aero biz.....five years later every sat morning :D .
I now collect for the xbox mainly(197) trying to guess what will be rare before its rare .I want the whole collection (ntsc).
I could go on but most gamers have a sort of A.D.D. and wont read it anyway LOL .
So good bye for now.
P.S. any xbox fanboys out there let me know
P.S.S. my best find in the wild Spectravideo Bumper Bash for $1 anyone knowwhat it is worth?
Hey everyone!
I'm Syd, I'm 20 and I'm in Canada. My favourite systems are the SNES and NES, in that order, and I only started collectiong stuff recently. I came across this place while searching for a complete list of SNES games on google. I'm currently completing a degree in Computer Engineering, and right now I'm on a work term. Now that I actually have money I figured I should start collecting some stuff! See you around!

I'm sort of a rom and anime collector, I don't know how much anime is known and loved here but reagarding console players, I guess many know what I'm talking about. What else... well, I'm into 80's and electronic music, cyberpunk, Lovecraftian horror and Cthulhu mythos (hence the nickname), like to draw and whoknowswhatelse. Well, not to be too dull and boring, glad to be here and I hope that I won't be too teased and flamed by the ops and mods here :). Thanx

Hi All!
I am an early-30s dude who has been into gaming since my parents bought me a Sears VCS in '79 or so. I'm more of a gamer than a pure collector, but I love all good and fun games, retro or new. I was weaned on 2600 Activision games, grew up with Commodore at my side (Ultima IV my fave), and now play GameCube and PS2. Also recently got into the pit that is Saturn Imports ;)

My name is Mark S. Hinds. I'm 46 years old. My birthday is March 24th, the day the PSP goes on sale. I told my wife (Danaleigh) that this was a sign that fate is trying to tell us something. Like, "buy hubby a PSP for his birthday". I don't think she fell for this. I might wind up having to buy my own.
I live in Jacksonville, FL, USA. Being a former Army Brat I have lived in more states that I can count, plus France and Germany. But, J-Town has been my home since 1978.
My first console? A Coleco Telestar I got for Christmas. I then bought an Atari VCS (2600) in 1979. I didn't buy many games for it at the time, as none of them lived up to the box art. I did play NIGHT DRIVER quite alot though.
I then went a few years without playing Video Games. Then came 1987 (or late '86). My brother had bought an NES, and was showing it off. I then made a mad-dash to Toys 'R Us, cash-in-hand, to buy and NES. I came home with an SMS instead. I never regreted it! My SMS was, and still is, much loved and appreciated. About 6 months later I bought an NES, mainly because SMS software was rather limited. I have since been filling the gaps of my SMS collection, plus buying alot of non-U.S. SMS games.
Since then I have only bought 4 platforms while they were the current state-of-the-art. A Genesis. A Dreamcast (on launch day). A GameCube with the Game Boy Player add-on. And a Game Boy Advance SP. Everything else I added after it had died. 3DO. 32X. Atari 7800. Saturn. Jaguar. Commodore 64. SNES. Intellivision. PlayStation.
I came across Digital Press while surfing the web, and have been here ever since. While I have visited dozens of other classic gaming sites, I call Digital Press my (gaming) home. Lots of nice people here.

Hello.
I'm 25 and currently living in Salt Lake City, UT.
I've always loved video/computer games, and wanted to head to the arcade every chance I get (I still do, though usually the Ms. Pac Man/Galaga machine is the only one that holds my interest). When I discovered MAME in college, I was in heaven, playing all those classic games I loved like Popeye, Mr. Do!, Tapper, Kangaroo, and Kicker.
After enying my friends' Colecovision and then Nintendo, my parents finally got me a Nintendo which I'm proud to say I still have (had to replace the pin connector, of course). That Nintendo made me the huge Ninja Gaiden and Dragon Warrior fanboy I am today. Besides an original Game Boy, that was the only system I had until recently. But I never stopped picking up NES games, delighting when KB Toys was selling them new at $5 and then when discovering Funcoland and finally eBay.
Just this summer I got my first new console - a PS2. It was between that or an X-Box (largely because PS2 could play Dragon Warrior VII while X-Box had the new Ninja Gaiden). And just recently I got a SNES. I'm slowly building up my libraries for both, but still have a list of about 20 games I'd still like for my NES (and usually as soon as one game leaves the list, I find another to replace it).
Anyway, I discovered this site a few months ago and finally decided to set up an account. Hello everyone!

How did I find this place? One of the moderators also works here, strangely enough...
Favorite games definitely have a Nintendo slant - Mario 64, Paper Mario (Thousand Year Door), Zelda Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, Banjo-Tooie, Atari Adventure, NHL Hockey for Sega Genesis.................
I mostly collect for Nintendo systems although I love the emulation scene and enjoy some of the rarer games although I don't own the consoles.
I worked at SGI during the development of the N64 and that probably made me the Nintendo fan that I am. The developers of the hardware were truly brilliant people and they were ahead of their time in many ways -- that system still provides hours of fun for my 3-year-old son. He especially likes it when I start the N64 emulator with Mario 64 and turn off the frame rate limiter so Mario runs faster than a gazelle!

i consider myself a serious collector. i just recently started collecting december 2003. i started collecting only for the atari 2600, then i ventured toward the nes. i have a small, but nice collection. i only collect carts and manuals. often times if i see a complete game, i'll pick it up. i probably have 1500+ games(500+ atari 2600 & 600+ nes) at the time. i enjoy collecting CIB game consoles.
i come here all the time and use the online rarity guide. i recently purchased the vintage collectors guide and am very pleased with it. i've been told that this is a great gaming/collecting community, with many knowledgeable members.

I play video games since 1984 but I collect since 1999, sold systems and games and rebuy all after many years is very interesting and strange
I love systems of middle-year like famicom, sms, snes, genesis... and like newer systems like gamecube, xbox... Old games always are better. I do not systems of old-year like 2600, intellivision, oddyssey... I really like games with ending
I love import japanese games, better covers and more colectible than us games. I think that us games are for play and jp games are for collect
I do not real life, I'm always inside of video game (only joking to don't talking about my real life hahahah), but I'm always dealing for new items of my collection (this is thuth)
My english is bad, so don't joke me about this

It's my first post here, so I'll introduce myself!
My name is SonicMegaDrive, age 24(as of 2004). I'm a huge Sega aficionado and a huge admierer of general classic gaming.
I call Maryland, USA my home and I've been a lurker at this site for many years, and finally decided to contribute.
I have 8 games that I call my 'favorites': Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, The Legend of Zelda, Contra, Gradius, Street Fighter 2, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Pretty cliched favorites, I know, but those are the games the molded my gaming tastes throughout the years. Chances are if I'm playing a video game, one of these 8 games was a large inspiration for it.
I admit I do collect for a few systems. Pretty much any Sega system(Master System, Genesis, GameGear, Sega CD/32X, Saturn, Dreamcast...I even owned a PICO once. :hmm: ). But I also boast fairly nice collections for the NES, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Gamecube, and PS2.
In real life, I'm an artist. Drawing is my first passion, along with animation(you know, cartoons). I'm very heavy into all forms of animation, be it CG, classic American, or even Japanese animation.
How did I begin collecting? Well, that's a good question. I guess at first I just wanted to have a nice, large library of games to choose from. I was very dissatisfied with the current state of gaming(This was around...I think 1998 or 1999), so I decided to embrace the older consoles. I started discovering a lot of old games that I had overlooked years ago, and eventually, unknowingly, I became a collector.
I hope to become a productive member of the community and to contribute any information I can.

I'm mostly an Atari 2600 collector, that has some how turned into a video game collector in general. Mainly because I cant always find 2600 games so I started picking up other stuff etc...
I live outside Tallahassee FL, on Lake Talquin (great fishing, Sega and the real kind) I work in the Glass business (store fronts, shower enclosures, Mirrors ect.) but I've been putting off colledge for about 5 years, construction sucks. I'm 30 and was in the Navy for 6 years after high school, I worked on air-search RADAR and other electronic equiptment. I think I would like to become an architect meaby.
My favorite games are:
Inteligent Qube (PS1)
Ghost Recon (PS2)
GTA series
Missle command (2600)
Centipede (2600)
Tetris
I like this site, dont remember how i found it, just browsing I guess. Well thats all I guess.

Okay, so like an idiot, I've whizzed through these forums and just realized one of these topics was at the top. So please forgive my tardiness in introducing myself.
My name's Nick and I'm from central Ohio. I've been into videogames since the Atari/NES days, and have been fairly steady in playing them throughout the years. I say fairly because there was a 2-3 year period in which I didn't play too much, sold my collection, and am now paying much more than I originally had to get my collection back. In other words, DON'T DO IT!
I love the PSX, Saturn, SNES, and Turbo Duo the most. My favorite types of games are RPGs, beat 'em ups, and, of course, Castlevania. I'm not so much a collector as I tend to get games that I will enjoy playing more often than not. I enjoy modern games but have found that the older ones mean much more to me. Thanks to some great members on here, I've been able to get back into gaming and plan on staying for a long time. I also love movies, music, and the Green Bay Packers.
That's pretty much all there is to me. Thanks for reading!

and I, too, love classic games. First started playing Atari as a very small child, but the NES is the system that I played the most and love the best. I regret to say that I stopped playing any systems made after the NES because I didn't want to be bothered with learning how to play with a new controller.
My favorite NES game ever is Bubble Bobble. A pretty typical 'girl game', but I never tired of it and probably never will. Hence my handle. I'm also a big fan of Paperboy, Bump n' Jump, Tetris, and Dr. Mario. I have recently gotten into playing older systems such as Intellivision and Colecovision.
I am married to an avid classic game collector who referred me to this site. I am a contemporary history and material culture student, and I'm in the process of writing a paper about the early classic video game systems and those who played them. I don't think I have ever had so much fun writing a paper in my life!
It's nice meeting you all, and I think that I will learn a lot here.

Hey guys!
Sorry, i didn't do this earlier but here it goes.
Name: Jeremy
Age: 24
Location: Tampa, FL
I have always been an avid gamer ever since my first atari. I then moved to the SMS (I used to live in France). Finally I got the NES and loved quite a few games however my true love was the SNES. That is the only one I kept throughout the years and play regularly. I tried to keep up with nintendo but they kinda dissapointed me lately. Anyways, I am also starting a website with my roomate from college that is dedicated to SMS, NES, SNES and Genesis...although i am biased with the SNES :D . I found this site while browsing around and it ROCKS! Well, thats about it. here are my fav games:
Secret of Mana, FFIV, FFVI, Tecmo Super Bowl, Dragon Warrior, Super Mario 2, MT's Punch Out and my new fav Starwars Battlefront.
Finally my most hated game:
Earthbound...not rare, not fun...just ebay garbage...
