I don't know how rare they are, but Japanese:

Bandai TV Jack 5000
Casio PV-1000 & PV-2000
Epoch Cassettevision & Super Cassettevision
Epoch PokeKon
Gakken TV Boy
Othello Multivision
Sega SG-1000 & SG-1000 II

I love that old obscure stuff!

As for the US, maybe my Super Micro (Palmtex PVS) handheld, though it's not video. I don't have anything too rare in that regard... Maybe Vectrex or APF, or Coleco Telstar Arcade.

It's a console system designed for the girl ! You can play some (crappy) games but what makes it cool is the fact that there is a printer in it.

Hey! I got my top loader at Funco too! I always tell people who want one to ask them and be patient. I've been looking for a Imagination Machine for a long time. I got the Basic cartridge years ago, but with the IM it's useless. What is this "J" connector?

Tempest

The "J" connector (my term) is what connects the M1000 to the IM. The short end goes into the M1000 as it sits on the IM, the long end goes into the first of the 2 cartridge slots on the IM. Then carts can be played through the 2nd slot on the IM. Viewed from the side, it literally looks like a block letter capital "J".

And I'm pretty sure I had it hooked up to a 19" TV at one point.

You know I'm lame when I'm thinking I should do some research into my inventory to answer this question.

Perhaps it's my Adventurevision.
Perhaps my Bandai Arcadia complete in box.
Or maybe my Haminex Ramses (Creativision clone.)
I do have a Super Cassette Vision Lady in the mail. She's a beauty.

Too bad only Slapdash will recognize all 4 of those. I think my goal in collecting is strictly to make Russ Perry jealous. How's it going Russ?

And let me state, for the record, that there is nothing lame about claiming your NES or Wonderswan are your rarest items. At least you have fun systems! Most of this crap I dig collecting are not for play- just for looks. I definitely would be just as well off if I was just sitting here with an NES and 10 choice carts. I'd probably be having more fun playing them than I would struggling to pay for rare systems I won't play.

Well depends on his point of view. We all know that you're a game console collector. Since you're posting very more often than me, Ian must have think that i was gone, dead or something. :D

There's too many game systems that we could label "RARE", especially the ones that are too weird or obscure to be known.

For now, i can't say anything about a project i'm working on but it does relate to video games. If i can finished this project, i'll be in heaven! :P ('nuff said!).

Nice...nice...too much money you have...as if any of that will lose value, I think not. The Sharp Twin actually isn't too rare; the rarest *functional* Famicom item would be the Sharp "Titler" unit, which is a Famicom that can add titles to your home videos. Hooray...

My rarest item (not really rare at all) on the hardware side would have to be my MSX2, but I haven't been buying systems (in fact, at the moment the only other system I consider a collectible is my Neo Geo AES. Gold System, but who cares?)

I should be getting a SuperGrafx + CD-ROM adapter soon, as well as a Sinclair ZX-Spectrum (it's been over a decade since anybody in my family owned one, in fact I daresay it was traded off for that awful TI-99 before I was born).

My rarest to least rarest
Dina 2 in 1 (Boxed, Complete)
Sears Video Arcade II
Children's Discovery system
Dragon 32

And finally, off of Ebay, after over a year of searching. I will probably get a friendly little PM from Russ as soon as he sees this begging me for this.

Entex Select A Game System with Space Invader 2. I paid only $27.03 + shipping for this bad boy, the Frikken' deal of the year. These things are equally as rare as an Adventurevision and can sometimes fetch the same high prices through the right channels.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!

PICS?

I've never even heard of some of these.

Thanks,
Steve

I don't really have means to get pics up, but go to yahoo and search and you will find some nice sites with info and pics.

Basically the Dina is a Clone By Bit Corp. that plays Colecovision and Sg1000 games, Video arcade II is a high end 2600 clone, Dragon 32 is similar to the TRS 80 but was European, and the Select A Game, I knew i would get questions about that, but its a extremely rare handheld from Entex makers of the Adventurevision.

I was looking over you collection pic/list, and i was wondering where you got your 1292 and PC-50x systems? Also, on your list you have the Interton VC-4000, Rowtron VCS, and Hanimex 1392. The Hanimex 1392 is the only system you have listed as a 1292 system when infact the Interton VC-4000 and Rowtron VCS are both 1292 systems. I'd have to go with my Famicom AV and requisite Disk System (the latter has its box still). Second place would have to be my Neo Geo Pocket Color.

For accessories, it's my Famicom Zapper (which is a replica of a Colt .45).

For games, it's my small stash of Famicom and Disk Sytem games:
Hitler no Fukkatsu (Bionic Commando w/Nazis! :D)
Contra (Japanese version)
Doki Doki Panic (complete)
Eggerland (apparent prequel to the Adventures of Lolo)
Palutena no Kagami (Japanese Kid Icarus, which has different requirements for the best ending)
Pro Wrestling (Disk System version)
Super Mario Bros. 2

Just going back a few posts. I remember the Dick Smith Wizzard being sold here in Australia when I was a kid. My rarest system would probably be my

Haminex 666 PONG
MB Vectrex
Commodore 128D

I don't have many rare systems but my Wonderswan Color is rare here in Australia s they weren't released here. If the Dick Smith Wizzard is that rare I could probably place an advertisement in the local newspaper and get one for somebody. I'd probably get one for myself at the same time. I bet it wouldn't cost much either.

Regards,

Nubian.

If you could score one for cheap ,I would be way interested! Do they look the same as a creativision? How about the controllers?

I think there was Sharp(?) personal computer released in Australia/NZ back in 80s from memory. If you can find one in mint that will be a good one for collection...

I would have to say my CDX. I got it for 5 bucks at a swap meet with only controllers. Over the last year I got Stereo A/V cables and just recently found out I could use my Game Gear AC adapter to power it... ha

Easily my blue debug Playstation (oh yeah, thanks ASSEMblerEX!) but other than that, closest thing is a model 2 SNES. I'd never even seen one before when I bought it...it was my first SNES and I thought it was a PAL model or something. :P

Just get yourself a Genesis 2 ac adapter and you're good to go. That's all you really need.

You mean that ugly brown box with the blue speckly things all over it?

hmm.... mine came in the white cardboard box with slip-on sleeve. The sleeve itself is in blue with mosaic motif and CROSS in the middle. Modified Saturn is in the original Saturn packaging box except a samll sticker saying it's by Cross or something...

Official system probably the Yeno Prof. Weiss-Alles (German version of the Socrates)...

and otherwise I'd say most of my Famicom and NES clones (90%+ MIB). Sure, there are many box variations for these clones, but there are also some clones that have a very original design and are very hard to come by. :)

My rarest system "was" my Sega Nomad which I bought at the Goodwill for $5 and resold it on ebay with a few games for $90. I kinda wanted to keep it...but something came up and I needed the extra money pretty badly.

I almost became the proud owner of a PC-Engine Duo RX system complete with box along with Dracula X: Rondo of Blood. My cousin had it and was going to sell it all to me for a measly $200. However, he then decided he didn't want to sell it. :( But he did let me borrow it for a couple months along with Dracula X.

Very expensive because I waited on a really mint system. So mine is like new with every sheet of paper, manual, and any interior stuff. It has had its price, 220$.

Well if you count systems which lost their worth, I bought the Xbox in May 2002 for 299 Euro (388$).

Nothing rare. I'd have to say the Panasonic 3DO FZ1, the Atari Jaguar or top-loading Sega CD. Yeah, my collection of "rare" systems is that sparse. I'd love to have the Amiga CD32 released in the United States but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
