50% off all Gamecube games at Gamestop

Today is the deal of the century for Gamecube collectors. 50% off all gamecube games plus and additional 10% off for card holders. I went to my local GS this morning and cleaned them out. Here's some of the titles I snagged:

I'm in NYC and I called a store or two to see if this deal applied to the area. I was told it doesn't, but it wouldn't be the first time a store associate got it wrong in that place.

Not sure how long this UNADVERTISED SALE will go on. Only the games and not the hardware have the discount. Gee do you think this is because the new Wiis no longer suppport Gamecube games? Take a wild guess when the tons of white Pelican Gamestop Wii Gamecube controllers go clearanced. LOL

Yea, it's a one day special for December. New deals each day.

I missed out on the PS2 deal sadly. I would have racked up then. :(

I spent $40 on Time Splitters Future Perfect, Sonic Gems Collection, Spartan Total Warrior, Zelda Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, and Donkey Konga. Not bad when TP is more than half of that total. I wanted Zelda Four Swords too but they didn't have it in stock.

Too bad all the Gamestops in my area either stopped carrying Cube games or gutted them down to disc only. I guess it doesn't matter, they haven't had anything I didn't already have for a couple of years now.

I wanted MGS but I would have had to drive an extra 30 miles to get to a store that carried it. Didn't feel like making the trip.

I couldn't find MGS: TTS or Star Wars: Jedi Outcast at any of my GS locations but managed to get Mario Party 4-7. They were all complete but they had lots of stores that had them as disc only.

Sadly all the EBGames around me blow for previous generation nowadays, especially GameCube. Few even have GameCube stock at all beyond perhaps a dozen or so titles.

This was a one-day deal as part of their countdown to Christmas specials. I'm not sure what the current deal is, I think it's only for Power Up Rewards members (maybe not...but that's where I've seen all the info for these specials so far).

Don't worry. Now that the non-BC unit is on shelves everywhere, it won't be long at all before they call it a day on GC games and accessories (that's floor space they could sell to Ubisoft!! :ass:). Keep your eyes peeled. :)

Tomorrow card members receive early access to the B2G1F sale. I think it ends December 28 for everyone but anyone with the card gets it early. Deal can be combined with other discounts and coupons.

I'm stopping at a few tomorrow to grab some items for resale. Now is a great time to do that and I've earned enough points with recent purchases to get a few coupons too.

If you missed out on the GC sale last week, the B2G1F isn't terrible if you have some coupons to go with it.

Unrelated to the sale since as mentioned, EBGames in and around Toronto are mostly devoid of GameCube games (pardon EB in Newmarket which has 18 copies of Rave Master, oh joy). I managed to pick up SSBM, SMS, Mario Party 4, Double Dash, and Metroid Prime with the MP2 demo for $22 at a pawn shop in Newmarket. Perhaps the gods smiled on my plight and threw me a bone.
