Alright, GS is starting to get serious about moving their old Xbox games. Leaving behind the uninteresting "25% off" sale, they've now enacted a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale. According to my GS, this will continue until they are all gone, or the next deal comes up.

I thought GS had already gotten rid of their XBOX games? The only game I'm really looking for any more is MvC2. Good deal to anyone whose GS still carries any Xbox games.

Nah, they've just stopped taking in new games, and in some cases have pulled the remaining games out of one store and shipped them to other stores.

Well, my GS has one! I actually pulled it out and commented on it to the guy working there that it was unfortunate. He said "What? The price?" and I said "No, the fact that the front artwork has a tear in it and it's missing the manual". It's still marked at $49.99, but of course it's b2g1 free.

Oh, this same store has the PS2 version as well, but in the generic Gamestop case with no manual. It's $59.99. I'm glad that they charge the same amount for complete vs. disc-only games, only because I think they would actually charge MORE for complete ones, rather than LESS for the incomplete ones.

They NEVER have manuals with that game, at least not at any of the four stores within 20 miles of my house. I'd probably have bought one already if GS had a complete copy EVER. Maybe they eBay the manuals?

I've been waiting for a better than 25% off sale. It's up to 33% now (if all games are equal price), so it's getting a little better.

All the Gamestops near me have jack shit for selection on Xbox games. Good deal... if you can actually find anything worthwhile.

Out of the 20 GS stores within 20 miles of me, most of the smaller ones have gotten rid of most of their stuff, but I still have 3-4 with a decent selection and a couple of those have a fair amount with original artwork. I hit one yesterday and picked up 6 games - 3 at $14.99 and 3 at $4.99, so after the discount card, it was $38 for 6 games. Not bad.

This deal is almost the same as the old sale. How many time are you going to find 3 games that are exactly the same price? First game $20, second game $20, third game
$15. So it costs $40 for the three. About a dollor or so saving over the old sale.

Still, sounds alot better. If you can find 3 game with the exact price you want, it is slightly better.

Here's how I do it. Let's say I find two complete and perfect $9.99 games that I want but can't find a third to take advantage of the sale? I just buy any crappy $9.99 game then take them to the next GS on the way home. If I find a $9.99 game there, then I exchange the other one for it. You're right, finding three games of the exact price and condition you want is tough, so you might have to hit more than one store, but eventually you'll get it.

Plus you have 7 days to find the third game you wanted and exchange it before you're stuck with it! All good...

So... wouldn't that just be the same thing, by comparison?

Nope, not at all. If a game like House of the Dead III is currently $12.99, instead of making the disc-only version $9.99, they'd raise the complete one to $14.99. See the difference?

Technically still charging less for the disc-only.
