Fallout New Vegas. From the people who made KOTOR 2. Sounds good to me...

I should add, the most logical reason for Bethesda to farm this one out is the main team is probably hard at work on Elder Scrolls V. Just a (very likely) guess.

Pretty cool. I sincerely hope all goes well with this one, because nothing could be more disappointing than a medicore/crappy Fallout.

Hopefully thats one reason, but another is that Obsidian was founded by some guys that worked on the original Fallout games.

I'm not sure who puts out a buggier product, Obsidian or Bethesda...
Obsidian wasn't just bad on KotOR, Neverwinter Nights 2 was an unplayble mess up until about a year after it's release, even after 30+ patches.

Oh wow.
I was disappointed that Obsidian quit working on that Aliens RPG, but it's awesome that the Fallout people are making another Fallout.
Bethesda did a great job with the license, but this screams potential.

Due to the lack of interest in PS3 users gettang any kind of addons for Fallout 3 and Oblivion, and the guaranteed RROD if I buy it for my 360, I am going to pass on this game. The company plays favorites.

I wouldn't write off the PS3 getting new DLC yet. You'll be getting all the Fallout 3 DLC in a "Game of the Year" edition at some point. Same thing will probably apply to this new Fallout game.
Besides, so what if one console gets it first? I played so much Fallout 3 on the 360, I'm sick of it now. I don't even want to play the newest DLC for a long time. Bethesda got it right with The Shivering Isles. They released it a whole year after Oblivion hit. After a year the game felt fresh again. It was fun to play through. These new DLC episodes that get released just a few months after most people finish the game gets to be too much IMO.
I realize no one is forcing me to play these things...I'm just saying.

I kindof hate how developers end up doing that. They make the entire game and then there's DLC only a couple months later. If it's something that was created with the game, don't be a bunch of fucking douchebags and force people to purchase it instead of including it with the game.
Kindof like how Resident Evil 5 was released and Capcom is like. "Hey guys, you can now pay for the multiplayer versus mode which is nothing more than the Mercenary maps with the ability to attack the other character." Don't forget the Street Fighter 4 additional costumes that came out right after the games release.
Some DLC is different though. GTA Lost and the Damned or Oblivion Shivering Isles. DLC that is actually worth paying for. There's also Unreal Tournament 3 and their additional maps and the titan pack that was available for download later on for free.
