Xbox trackball?

Is there an Xbox trackball that would function as the left analog stick? I play Midway Arcade Treasures for Rampart a lot with friends and the controls are brutally crappy. I'd buy a cabinet if I had room for it but i'm at college living in a small apartment. Thanks a lot.

Also, is the 2 player joystick version of Rampart any good? Are the controls better than console Rampart?

I've got the X-Arcade trackball with a USB-to-Xbox adapter but I've never tried using it with any Xbox games. I bought it to use on my modded Xbox with MAMEdoX but the emulator doesn't support trackballs for some reason. Maybe I'll bust it out tonight and see if I can get it to work with the Midway collection but I'm guessing it won't.
