Steel Battalion info?

Is there anywhere I could find info on the differences between the original release, re-release, print run numbers, blue/green controllers, VT figures (yes I want everything), promo things, stuff like that? The wikipedia article is crap and a couple fansites I found had just some info.

the only thing I know about SB is that the original version had the better looking green buttons (which I have)...other than that no.

Getting it back into the box is easy enough, I just want to know how much stuff is out there. And why would you ever want to put that godly controller away?

Besides the color of the buttons, I think the v2 pedals were a little different than the original release.


Kinda OT, but here's a PC driver for the SB controller. Never tried it myself (don't have a Xbox-to-USB adapter), but maybe someone can mess around with it and let us know if it's any good:

I've got 4 of the vinyl toys (I think there were 5). I got them back at xmas 05. I don't remember if they were for Steel Battalion or for Line of Contact (I think they were SB though). Nice little toys that have moved across country twice with me now.

I believe there's a 4" mini-fig set as well as slightly larger models that you have to assemble. Vinyl toys are like the KidRobot thingies? I'll have to look into that.

I'm still pissed I didn't pick Steel Battalion up used for $60 when a local store had it (damn myself for being moneyless at the time)

Vinyl toys was a wrong thing to say. These are +/- 4" and there was 'some assembly required'.

Ok some specific questions for you informed folk:

1. How big was the initial production run. Wikipedia says ~2000 worldwide. I've heard 20,000 which seems rather high for SB.

2. I also heard that Tekki was only available online via Capcom's store and around 1000 units were produced, is this true?

3. I heard the reprint was around 1,000 units, is this true? I know that some reprints had the green controllers but for the most part they were the blue ones correct?

4. Where the hell on this planet will I be able to track down the TGS Red Tea figures?

5. Are there any, as small as just saying PAL on it, differences between the PAL controller and the US one?
