| Designed by Shigeru Miyamoto. Description: Features battery back-up. Later re-released in "Classic Series" packaging, like Zelda I and Metroid, with a Classic series banner on the box, and a grey cart, instead of gold. That version is slightly rarer than the original. Style/Genre: Side View Real-Time/Role-Playing. Click to see other games of this type. Released: 12/88. (USA) Part Number: NES-AL-USA. Easter Eggs: a) When you are in any of the 4 palaces that have the falling stone wall in them (the ones with the platform up high and usually contains a key) climb all the way to the top and let the blocks completely fall and fill the whole wall in and make sure you have plenty of magic. Select the fairy spell and use it, you will not become a fairy though, now press A and you will become a fairy, then press left or right, you will fall through a void and end up on the outside roof of the palace above the entrance. You can go left or right to exit or you can use fairy again and repeat the above steps and this time you will be on the world map outside of the palace. b) Pause the game, now on controller 2 hold Up and A and you will be able to save anywhere and quit without dying. This same trick will work with the original Zelda as well Periodicals: Received "Best Adventure Game of 1989" by Video Games & Computer Entertainment Magazine. Listed as one of the "99 Favorite Classics" by Digital Press in 1997. From the Digital Press "Classic" Guide.
